Again most I don’t know but really like Wolf Alice, EE and Middle Kids. Played the top 10 enjoyed pretty much all of it but I haven’t really got into Dry Cleaning I really try but they just don’t do anything for me, they are good but I dunno. I still playlist them though one day a song will click with me.

Analysis:
Dry Cleaning top this year's chart. The track was actually released in November last year but as I was out of action for the last couple of months of 2020, it carried over to this year. The inclusion of tracks from the last couple of months of 2020 actually played a big part in this chart, with the top 4 from my January chart, which included those carried over songs, all making the end of year top 10.
Dry Cleaning are the first chart toppers since Emma Pollock in 2016 to have appeared previously, though 2019 chart topper Bill Ryder-Jones had several previous appearances with The Coral, and there was no chart in 2017 or 2018.
There are a lot more nationalities than I first thought. England will always have a lot of acts, through sheer numbers. The other parts of the UK and Ireland tend to take in turns to have good years, though Scotland, which has had a lot of acts do well in my chart, seriously short on numbers this year, with Mogwai the only fully Scottish act to appear. Europe has done very well with 4 acts for Norway and 3 for the Netherlands.
Past #1's: (1994-1997 were retrospective charts compiled in later years) 1994: Stone Roses - Love Spreads 1995: Chemical Brothers - Leave Home 1996: Manic Street Preachers - A Design For Life 1997: Radiohead - Paranoid Android 1998: Ultrasound - Stay Young 1999: The Living End - Prisoner Of Society 2000: Llama Farmers - Snow White 2001: Elbow - Any Day Now 2002: Cooper Temple Clause - Film-Maker 2003: Radiohead - There There 2004: Mansun - Slipping Away 2005: Subways - Rock & Roll Queen 2006: Pipettes - Your Kisses Are Wasted On Me 2007: Biffy Clyro - Saturday Superhouse 2008: Son Of Dave - Hellhound 2009: Twilight Sad - I Became A Prostitute 2014: Boy & Bear - Southern Sun 2015: Lanterns On The Lake - Faultlines 2016: Emma Pollock - Dark Skies 2019: Bill Ryder-Jones - Don't Be Scared, I Love You 2020: Fontaines DC - Televised Mind
No act had more than one song in the top 10. In fact, Dry Cleaning were the only act to have two songs in the top 30.
Two acts had 4 songs in last year's chart. This year, no-one managed 4, with Dry Cleaning are the only act to appear 3 times.
Acts with 2 songs in this year's chart: Wolf Alice Moderate Rebels Mogwai Trampolene Wet Leg Yumi & The Weather Sam Fender Beach Riot Wooze
Acts that also appeared last year: Fontaines DC Friedberg Sports Team John (TimesTwo) bdrmm
Acts returning after a long absence: 2001: Feeder 2002: Wildhearts 2006: Killers 2014: Mogwai, Jack White 2015: Vant, Colleen Green, Villagers, Jane Weaver, Everything Everything, Du Blonde 2016: Radiohead, Wolf Alice
Different nationalities in this year's chart: England Australia Ireland Spain Wales Austria Germany USA Northern Ireland Venezuela Sweden Scotland New Zealand Belgium Norway Netherlands Jersey Canada Italy Japan South Korea France
Acts with the most all-time appearances: 1. Manic Street Preachers (24) 2. Radiohead (21) 3. Blur (20) 4. Super Furry Animals (18) 5= Ash, Elbow (16) 7= Supergrass, Chemical Brothers (14) 9. Oasis (13) 10= Charlatans, Beck (12)
It's worth mentioning that although my end of year charts go back to 1994, there was no chart from 2010-13 and 2017-18, which has affected the potential totals, not least the Arctic Monkeys, who would certainly have more than their current 5 appearances were it not for the fact their last three albums were all released in years where I didn't compile a chart. Given the music I listen to barely troubles the singles chart (Sam Fender, being a notable exception this year), it's unlikely that retrospective charts will ever be compiled for those missing years, though I do intend on compiling a 1993 chart at some point.
