We're a few months away from when Time Machine would usually be starting but there's a few things that need to be ironed out - mainly what the theme for the next edition will be.
As I won the 1970s Time Machine competition, I am scheduled to host the next edition but I want to find out what people would like to see, so there are two options on the table.
OPTION 1: 1960s This would be a conventional edition, like those in the past, taking in each year of the 1960s, going from 1960 to 1969. I've seen plenty of support for this as it's a decade that hasn't been covered yet. From a personal point of view, I'm not overly enthusiastic about 60s edition, so if this what people would prefer to see, I am happy to hand over hosting duties to someone else.
OPTION 2: A MULTI-DECADE FORMAT This would follow the pattern of having 10 separate years, but they would be spread across all the decades from the 1960s to the 2010s - that way, there's a wide variety of eras and styles in there and we get a true "time machine" feel for the contest. I know this won't appeal to everyone, which is why I want to put it to a vote before making a decision.
The choice is yours, Haven. 1960s or multi-decade? I'll leave the poll open until the end of May.

Have the Cliff fan club been in to vote yet 😃? They'd be happy with either arrangement I guess.

Much as I like Cliff I'd be the first to admit some of his 60s (and 50s) output hasn't dated particularly well although there are plenty of gems.

That's good. The 60s is far too good a decade to not have it's own contest.

I’m coming round to the idea of the 60s Time Machine as I purposely listened to some playlists this week to see how much I’d know.

I think there'll be a bit of a scramble for good (and memorable) singles from the early 60s, but the latter years have an abundance.

1964 and 1968 are my worse years in terms of number of songs with 3 and 2, all the other years I have at least 4.

the good thing about this decade is they are pretty short songs so shouldnt take up too much time playing them

I'd like to think this should be more about entering interesting songs from the decade that you want others to listen to, than trying to win it with Beatles hits.

There's so much more to the 60s than the Beatles, but you just called out DJ Cheeky Magpie's choices!

I mean if I can't enter well-known 60's songs (not necessarily Beatles, I'm actually not a huge fan...) I literally won't know enough music to take part. I might take part as a voter though.
