It is what is. Streaming has taken over and we have to get used to it even if we don't like it.

Whatever number one is is down to what has been streamed bought for paid via subscription, downloaded and Alexa please play. There is always gonna be someone who doesnt like what number one is.
Id rather see a song for charity at number one than a returning number one all the time. The money for the charity benefits all people as the money for the other is only benefitting the writer.
But times are changin (again) its only been a while since downloads were introduced and i remember the uproar back then but sadly streaming is the ultimate overkill as you dont even have to own a copy.
It is what it is. The song that sells the most given the parameters of what is needed is the number one song but not necessarily everybodys favourite

Personally, I've always enjoyed the spectacle of the charts at Christmas and I still do. I think the annual Christmas oldies takeover is fun and it'll all be finished in a little over 3 weeks, so no harm done. The Ladbaby records are terrible and deeply unfunny of course, but if they raise a bit of festive cheer for people with a significantly different sense of humour to me then good luck to them!
'Tis the season of peace and goodwill to all, a cliché maybe but still worth remembering.
