Was at the Radio 2 festival in Leicester on Saturday.
Deacon Blue, James Blunt, Beverley Knight, Tears for Fears, Soft Cell and Texas were all incredible.
Bananarama I enjoyed, but their vocals weren't good enough for one of the two 45 minute slots of the day. That should have gone to James Blunt IMO.
Busted may not be my cup of tea, but they pleased the crowd - and I did enjoy a few, like 'Year 2000'.... and 'MmmBop' with surprise special guests Hanson!

Also eyeing up PÆRISH who are playing a few UK dates in October including London on the 1st Sadly they've cancelled most of their UK dates as their drummer's injured himself luckily I hadn't bought a ticket yet. Hope he makes a full recovery and decide to come back to the UK soon. Nothing else booked for this year but I might not be able to stop myself from going to see Blood Command again in December if their new album (out in 2 DAYS!!) is as good as I think it will be. And then there's still Teenage Wrist as well if I can make the dates work.

Oh my goddddd OK now I have to go Nottingham is just too far for me and it's also the day after my work Christmas do so I'll be knackered and possibly hungover 😅 but they have a Bristol date on the following Monday so I'll probably do that. Excitement!! (I actually play PÆRISH's new album more than Teenage Wrist's) Just seen Teenage Wrist are on the bill for 2000 Trees next summer along with Creeper as well

OK it seems there are still tickets for London but it's going to be expensive as I've got to take public transport... ugh.

Yeah one site still had them so I've just bought one, it will be a real pest logistically as it's a work night as well but I'll worry about that later. I am not missing this!

Shame we couldn’t do London, even if it had been a Thursday we could probably have done it. Saying that Lynne probably wouldn’t have come , she would have been phew you can just go with Jade.

I've also bought a ticket for the Blood Command show on the 1st while I'm at it, that one IS in Bristol so will be much easier for me

My partner would probably pay to not have to come to a gig with me haha! But it would be nice to meet your missus if she ever comes to gigs with you in London. Personally I'm glad it's not Thursday as I have a work thing that night as well! I am going to be so pooped by the time I get to the party but it will be worth it

Yeh she isn’t much of a fan of shoegaze grunge these days , she prefers dance music. But she will come for the booze at least hehe

This is one thing about going by public transport, I can have a drink! Though probably not recommended for working the next day

Fall Out Boy last Thursday was amazing! I saw them many years ago back in Manchester, and they've improved so much since then. And we got two songs they've never played live before. They also got announced as a Download headliner for next year, and it's very tempting but the overall line-up hasn't excited me much yet
