African runners-up table:
(Top 4 go into a mini tournament to determine Africa's representative in the interconfederation playoffs)
1. Gabon 2-6 (+2) 2. Equatorial Guinea 2-6 (+2) 3. Burkina Faso 2-4 (+3) 4. Sudan 2-4 (+1) ------------------------------ 5. Zambia 2-3 (+1) 6. Botswana 2-3 (0) 7. Mali 1-1 (0) 8. Cape Verde 1-1 (0) 9. South Africa 1-0 (-2)
There has been no announcement on how the runners-up table will work with Eritrea's withdrawal meaning one group only has 5 teams but for the benefit of this list, I am assuming games against 6th placed teams will not count.

Brazil lose a home World Cup qualifier for the first time ever after Nicolas Otomendi's goal gave Argentina a 1-0 win. Brazil have now lost three qualifiers in a row and drop to 6th in the standings. Kickoff was delayed by 30 minutes due to clashes between Brazilian police and Argentine fans in the stands at the Maracana. Elsewhere, Darwin Nunes scored twice as Uruguay continued their strong start by beating Bolivia. Colombia remain 3rd after beating Paraguay, who have now failed to score in 13 of their last 15 World Cup qualifiers. Ecuador leapfrog Brazil by beating Chile. Peru scored their first goal of the campaign but could only draw with Venezuela, who remain in the top 4.

Worse run of defeats in any competition too I think?.
I hope Venezuela shake that monkey off their back and finally no longer be the only South American team to not qualify for a World Cup.
They were so close in 2014 when they didn't have to worry about Brazil getting in the way.
If the country was moved over to Europe, they would have had an easier task to qualify.

Delighted to say that 16 matches will be in Texas, more than any other U.S. state. Sadly Dallas did not get the final but I look forward to seeing my first ever World Cup ties live.
