120 - 111
120 Limbo - Royal Blood (2021, #5, YEC #9) 7th appearance
119 Wasted All My Days - The Vanities (2021, #1, YEC #10) Only appearance
118 Hypnotize - The White Stripes (2003) 4th appearance
117 Party Hard - Andrew WK (2001, #2, YEC #26) Only appearance
116 Shake It Out - Florence & The Machine (2011) Best of 5[/b]
115 Date With The Night - Yeah Yeah Yeahs (2003) 2nd appearance
114 Fear of Flying - Feeder (2019, #1, YEC #4) 11th appearance
113 Not Going Anywhere - Potty Mouth (2021, #1, YEC #2) Best of 4
112 Good Samaritan - The Hives (2019, #1, YEC #13) First appearance
111 Hey, Johnny - Lawmaker (2021, #1, YEC #7) 5th appearance
Some strong #1s from Feeder and Lawmaker missing out on the top 100, plus one-hit wonder Andrew WK storming in at #117. Two female-fronted acts bow out at this stage: 2020s punk-pop from Potty Mouth, and the haunting beauty of Florence & The Machine. "It's always darkest before the dawn"

110 - 101
110 Dammit, I Changed Again - The Offspring (2000) 4th appearance
109 Headstone - Cold Years (2021, #1, YEC #6) Best of 2
108 You Get What You Give - New Radicals (1999, #6, YEC #60) Only appearance
107 You Bring Me Down - Blood Red Shoes (2008, #2, YEC #11) First appearance
106 An Animal - Blood Red Shoes (2014, #1, YEC #2) 2nd appearance
105 The Bartender And The Thief - Stereophonics (1999) Only appearance
104 Tick - Yeah Yeah Yeahs (2003) Best of 3
103 Glass Towns - The K's (2018, #1, YEC #7) Only appearance
102 The Handler - Muse (2015) 17th appearance
101 Hate To Say I Told You So - The Hives (2002, #1, YEC #30) Best of 2
These are the ten songs that just missed out on the top 100, including the first entries for Blood Red Shoes. There's more to come from them, but we won't be seeing Yeah Yeah Yeahs or The Hives in the top 100.
A few questions for those of you reading this thread - what do you think is still to come? Any predictions for #1? Which songs have been shockingly low-placed? What would be in your top 100 over the same time period?

100 - 91
100 Scapegoat - Saturday's Heroes (2023, #2, YEC #8) Only appearance
We start the top 100 with the latest-released song to make it to this list - it was released in November 2023, by which time I'd already ranked half of this list. It's the first song I've heard from the Swedish band, but hopefully not the last!
99 Mr. Brightside - The Killers (2004) 3rd & final appearance
A huge hit in the mid-noughties, which was a floor-filler in "cheese music" nights at Uni, but generally too mainstream for indie nights.
98 Time is Running Out - Muse (2003, #1, YEC #4) 18th appearance
The opening single from 'Absolution' was one of a few Muse songs to spend four weeks at #1. You won't be surprised to hear that there's more to come...
97 Oblivion - Royal Blood (2021, #4, YEC #8) 8th & final appearance
Effortlessly cool British rockers Royal Blood, however, bow out here.
96 The Great Escape - We Are Scientists (2005, #1, YEC #2) 2nd & final appearance
This was We Are Scientists' breakthrough hit in my chart, and one that they never really lived up to.
95 No One Knows - Queens of the Stone Age (2002, #1, YEC #31) 2nd & final appearance
Another band that were very big in the noughties, this was QOTSA's debut hit in my chart. I specifically sought out a live version for my playlists, after being blown away by the extended version at Reading festival in 2005.
94 Old Habits - MID CITY (2019, #2, YEC #5) 5th & final appearance
Melbourne-based MID CITY had a big 2019, with four songs in my year-end top 50. The relentless pace of this one meant it won out over 'Fake Friends Forever' (#170) and 'No Surrender' (#158), both in 2019 and now.
93 Melanie - Miss Vincent (2018, #1, YEC #4) Only appearance
Southampton-based Miss Vincent had five weeks at #1 with 'Melanie', a tragic song of a girl who's lost hope.
92 All My Life - Foo Fighters (2002, #1, YEC #41) 2nd appearance
This was Foo Fighters' debut hit in my chart (they now have 25), and the first of three #1s - the other two are still to come.
91 Back To Bed - Brixton Alley (2023, #1, YEC #6) 2nd & final appearance
Brixton Alley are three Australia-based Brits who reached #1 on debut with this foot-tapping tune about disappointing weather.

90 - 81
90 Run - Foo Fighters (2017, #1, YEC #6) 3rd appearance
One of the heavier Foos riffs features here, with Dave Grohl even getting a bit screamy in places.
89 Munich - Editors (2006, #1, YEC #7 [2005], #5 [2006]) 3rd & final appearance
People are fragile things, you should know by now
Possibly the only song to manage year-end top 10 appearances two years ago, thanks to a re-release.
88 Monster - The Automatic (2006, #1, YEC #2) 5th & final appearance
What's that coming over the hill?
87 Orpheus - Ash (2004, #2) 5th appearance
Perhaps an underrated song from Meltdown, the chorus here is euphoric: I need the sunshine in the morning
(Written from a sunny morning commute)
86 Pork And Beans - Weezer (2008, #1, YEC #1) Only appearance
2008's self-affirming year-end #1 brings with it a fantastic video, making homage to mid-2000s internet memes that are still memorable today.
85 Chop Suey - System Of A Down (2001, #1, YEC #7) 2nd & final appearance
Wake up! Wstffflknlnlwkw shake up!
84 Pyramid Song - Radiohead (2001, #18, YEC #234) 5th & final appearance
One look at the year-end chart position tells you that this song took time to grow on me! Now one of my favourite Radiohead songs, although several from that category are too early for this list.
83 Joy Kicks Darkness - Ash (2009, #1, YEC #23) 6th appearance
I'm loathe to mention "euphoric" in an Ash song for the second time this week, but they're masterful at this sort of thing! This was "B" from the A-Z series, perhaps overshadowed by "C" (still to come in this list) - largely thanks to the A-Z Series, they're second in the all-time list of most prolific FragChart artists, with 41 hits.
82 My Boulder - The King Blues (2008, #1, YEC #7) Only appearance
Fantastic song about supporting your mates: "You can lean on me, cry on my shoulder; If I'm Obelix, you are my boulder"
81 Kicks - Randells (2021, #1, YEC #14) 4th & final appearance
All I want is some kicks, gimme gimme some kicks

80 - 71
80 Rebellion (Lies) - Arcade Fire (2005, #1, YEC #1) 7th & final appearance
79 When We Wake Up - Asylums (2018, #1, YEC #6) Only appearance
78 Take Me Out - Franz Ferdinand (2004, #1, YEC #) 5th & final appearance
77 Fractured Fairy Tale - The Young Rochelles (2023, #2, YEC #7) 2nd & final appearance
76 Tuesday - Mercy Music (2020, #1, YEC #3) Only appearance
75 C'mon C'mon - The Von Bondies (2004) 2nd & final appearance
74 Follow - Bottle Note (2017, #1, YEC #23) Only appearance
73 You're My Evergreen - Feeder (1999) 12th appearance
72 Renegades - Feeder (2010, #1, YEC #3) 13th appearance
71 Comatose - Planet Mercury (2021, #1, YEC #1) Only appearance
A set bookended by year-end #1s sixteen years apart. The Arcade Fire were huge in FragChart in the mid-noughties, scoring several #1s in succession. Planet Mercury on the other hand are one-hit wonders.
In between them are a couple of hits from 2004, including a predictable entry at the top of my list of favourite Franz Ferdinand songs. We've got another grower from late 2003 too, with The Young Rochelles somehow missing out on #1 with 'Fractured Fairy Tale', but succeeding in both year-end top 10 and 25-year-end top 80.
The only artist here that we'll see again is Feeder: one classic from 'Yesterday Went Too Soon', and the title track from their 'Renegades' album (video not-linked as NSFW)
