It's the inconsistency though. We will (rightly) allow almost any American act to come and perform here. The US have an arbitrary test about whether an artist is a "known international artist for a sustained and lenghty period of time". That was my feeling as well, I'd happily bar some of the sh*te that is allowed on the airwaves here from the US, Soulja Boy for 1!

hmmm.. didn't realize it was so hard for UK artists to tour the US. boycotting is silly though.... it's not the artists' fault. it's due to someone even more paranoid than you - the US gov

The trouble is it's always been hard for non-American acts to break into the US market. One of the ways they've managed to do it is by extensive touring. These rules make that almost impossible.

oh - and you need to remember just how big the US is... even american acts have a very hard time breaking it outside their local city (in fact most bands never do).

Great idea. And why not go a step further and stop selling CDs and downloads from UK Artists over there. That will teach them. How can you make this suggestion? Maybe it would help if they stay clean?

Very bad example. Vampire Weekend's album is way better than both of those two..
