Result from African Group 3: LIBYA 0-0 IVORY COAST The Ivory Coast go 5 points clear of Cameroon, who are joined on 11 points by Libya. I think Libya should win the prize for most inventive and original flag!! hehe!.

Result from Asian Group 2: NORTH KOREA 0-2 JAPAN Japan become the first team to qualify for the 2006 World Cup. Iran will join them if they avoid defeat against Bahrain later today. North Korea are eliminated.

Result from Asian Group 2: IRAN 1-0 BAHRAIN Iran join Japan in qualifying for the finals. Bahrain must settle for a playoff against a team from Group 1 for the right to play the 4th-placed CONCACAF team for a place in the finals.

Asian Group 1: KUWAIT 0-4 SOUTH KOREA South Korea reach the finals for 6th time in a row. Kuwait must avoid defeat in Uzbekistan in August to earn a playoff against Bahrain, with the winner going on to face the 4th-placed CONCACAF team for a place in the finals.

European Group 1: FINLAND 0-4 HOLLAND Van Nistelrooy and Van Persie were on the scoresheet for the Dutch, who stay a point clear at the top of the group. Finland's hopes are virtually over.

European Group 1: CZECH REPUBLIC 6-1 MACEDONIA 4 goals in 11 minutes either side of half-time from Jan Koller help the Czechs to come from behind and win. They remain a point behind Holland but are still only 3rd in the runners-up table, behind England and Sweden, with the top 2 qualifying automatically.
