And I predict 1-0 to England. Azerbaijan have a very good defensive record at home and I think they'll be tough to break down. I was right then!

I was right then! Just call you Mr Predicta! ;D I heard the players saying it was hard, cos it was cold, wet and windy >:(well watch out when winter hits England later then, you wont be able to play well in those games either. And to think as a kid I played in all weathers, and it never affected my performance, despite my pay being an orange at half time

I think you'll find I was the first to predict 1-0 to England. The performance last night didn't matter one bit, especially in those conditions (and I've seen England play a lot worse under Eriksson.) It was all about the result. With Wales losing and Austria being held, it's effectively a 2-horse race between us and Poland, and there's 5 games to go before we play them in the final game. Hopefully they'll slip up somewhere, we can keep winning and have it won before that game (and avoid a possible repeat of 1973.)

Top 2 go thru though dont they... No. The group winners qualify, plus the best 2 runners-up. The other 6 runners-up go into the playoffs. If we can go through the whole campaign unbeaten, I reckon we'll probably qualify whether we finish 1st or 2nd. We could have a situation for that final game where a draw would put both teams through...

Oh :-[Could've sworn I'd heard it was top 2, cos that is why I thought it was p*ss easy this time... Yep sounds like a nice solution to fix it with poland, maybe at the expenxe of Italy or someone who have lost a game already! ;D

Memories of 1973 arise ... back then, the World Cup was also held in Germany... England for the first time failed to qualify for a World Cup drawing with Poland in Wembley ... bad omen?

Whatever happened to the New Wembley? Wasn`t it planned to built a new Wembley stadium? Where is it? 3 or 4 years have passed and still nothing?

New Wembley is to be opened for the 2006 FA Cup final. It was meant to be for the world cup finals, too, but some other nation got those
