He might have given another goalkeeper a chance to get a cap. Not that it would have made any difference. I would probably have kept a clean sheet. we would of kept a clean sheet if he put SWP in goal or Beckham...

Was a good performance and a professional performance. Atmoshphere was dead up until they started diving all over the show in the second half. Pinnacle ofwhich was when their striker lay sprawled on the floor for the 2nd Defoe goal, rolling round like a muppet, then their #6 going over and clapping Lamps etc and getting booked for his troubles! Made a dull atmosphere come to life!
Bring on Macedonia now... shouldn't be a problem really - can see a comfortable win again, 2-0 or 3-0 and bossing the show.
Slightly concerned about Neville, Richardson and Downing though. Non of the three are good enough IMO

id be happy with a 2-0 in midweek, remember lat time we played them expecting to hammer them? yeah we drew 2-2 We won 2-1 last time we played them (thanks to a penalty), having drawn 2-2 earlier in the campaign. Macedonia were totally underrated before. It was stupid to assume we'd put 4 or 5 past them. They've had some decent results against some good teams but have lacked the consistency to challenge for qualification. I'd just be happy with 3 points on Wednesday, regardless of the scoreline.

That being said they only got 9 points in their qualification group (from 12 games). Including taking only a point off Andorra and 6 off Armenia but they did hold Holland both home and away. Those were the only points Holland dropped in a group that also had Finland, Czech Republic and Romania in. So we shall see...

Does anyone know of a website where I can get a full list of England historical stats, especially including dates of games, results and crowds? I came across a site with all this a couple of years ago but have long lost the url...

5-0 was hardly as convincing as Scotland thrashing the Faroe Islands 6-0

It was a good game, but it was way too easy for them, if they played a better team they would have struggled.
Playing Macedonia tomorrow, could easily sail thru that one, depends if the pitch is up to scratch
