043 The Futureheads "Worry About It Later" (UK Chart Position - 52) Never to return, because one turn is enough, two sides of the same coin, but it's the bad luck stuff....www.youtube.com/watch?v=6aZQtfkoII8One of the standout tracks on their second album "News And Tributes". It's a superb pop song which really could've been a mainstream radio hit but wasn't to be... I thought that the lead single "Skip To The End" was quite weak and probably their worst (or least good) single. This only reached number 52 in the chart which I thought was awful They've since split with their record label and claimed themselves to be "the happiest they;ve ever been" so hopefully a new deal and a new, superb album for next year!

042 Graham Coxon "Standing On My Own Again" (UK Chart Position - 20) Now whats happening to me, why cant i ever see? I'm gonna let you leave without a sound...www.youtube.com/watch?v=nk6v6JYZ_OAI love Graham Coxon. He's made many a great pop song with his guitar. This, his comeback single from early in the year, was no exception. An instantly catchy song with easy-to-remember lyrics. What more can you want? I always thought he was the best member of Blur but it's Damon that's had the success since Blur. Not that Gorillaz and The Good, The Bad & The Queen aren't both fabulous. Infact, he's still to appear...

041 Howling Bells "Setting Sun" (UK Chart Position - 114) Haters will love in time, and lovers will feel their crime...www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbBepI5FVgoThe first of 6 songs in a row with a female lead vocal. I doubt I'd ever have been introduced to it if I hadn't have seen quite a few people on internet forums praising it! And I'm extremely glad that I downloaded it to see what the fuss is about. The next single "Low Happening" which I believe is a re-release is also marvellous and it wouldn't surprise me at all if it was in my End-Of-Year chart next year! Oh, and FIT SINGER #disco#

In your top 50, I haven't heard most of them but do love the Raconteurs. The Coxon one is good but we've heard it all before from him

Of the songs revealed so far, 14 have a chance of making my chart.

040 Nelly Furtado "All Good Things (Come To An End)" (UK Chart Position - 04) The dogs were whistling a new tune, barking at the new moon, hoping it would come soon...One of the pop singles of the year. A fantastic ballad-y type song that sees Nelly going back to the Nelly that broke through to the main stream rather than sh*t, urban Nelly. I've never heard the album but may have to as I do love both this and Maneater.

039 The Organ "Brother" (UK Chart Position - 112) Here we go, theyre back again, look alive, warn your friends...Can't remember how I discovered this but may have been through XFM. An excellent song by a band who can be argued sound like Interpol, Blondie, The Cure and The Smiths all in one. What's not to love?! I didn't realise they were all girlies, just thought that it was a female singer!

038 Robots In Disguise "Turn It Up" (UK Chart Position - 141) I dress up bright tonight and needing the beat, dance into the speakers and max up the volume...More indie dance here. Should've been much bigger really. I've seen people talk about them before so they can't be that obscure. I know it got a bit of play on XFM... Haven't heard anything by them since so I presume that they may have given up. Oh well...

037 Rogue Traders "Voodoo Child" (UK Chart Position - 03) Why don't you tell me my future? Why don't I sell you my soul?...I loved this right from first listen. It's probably not something I would normally like but for some reason it's excellent. It's one of the best uses of a sample I've heard in a long time. I know that the singer is from Neighbours but that's always meant nothing to me as it's sh*t. Everything else I've heard by them has been quite rubbish. One Hit Wonders...

036 The Pipettes "Your Kisses Are Wasted On Me" (UK Chart Position - 35) And youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu might try to hold my hand again, and you don't know it, no you don't know it...Yay! Amazing pop band. Unfortunately as they actually write some of their stuff with backing band The Casettes, always play live and don't appear on kids tv shows they aren't very big. That, and they're on a tiny record label! This isn't one of my favourite few on the album but it really shows how good they are at harmonising. Marvellous. And fit!

035 The Automatic "Monster" (UK Chart Position - 04) What's that coming over the hill, is it a monster, is it a monster? An extremely catchy song that's been in my head ever since I first heard it. I knew it would be big straight away but I would never have thought it'd be in the top 20 sellers of the year! It looks as though they're going to be one hit wonders and in a way it's deserving as nothing on their album is quite in the same league as this. Although I do quite like Raoul now... Also very catchy!

034 Little Man Tate "House Party At Boothy's" (UK Chart Position - 29) Somebody's thrown up on the path, Balco's passed out in the bath...Fantastic song about a house party. Anyone who can't realte to atleast one lyric in the song must go to really sh*t parties! They've been compared to the Arctic Monkeys and although I don't think they're as good they are still a fairly good band. I do quite like everything I've heard by them. And they're loads better than Milburn who really are sh*te.

033 Kanye West ft Lupe Fiasco "Touch The Sky" (UK Chart Position - 06) Me and my momma hopped in the U-Haul van, any pessimists I ain't talked to them...When I first got his album "Late Registration" this was my favourite song on it but the more I listen to it the more I think it's now "Gold Digger". I would say this is the highest placed urban/rap/hip hop song on here but there are two more to come which are just pop songs which people may place as urban..

I love the Pipettes - there's a club in Brighton called 'Da Doo Run Run' which is just female indie music all night and they featured. It brings back memories of a great summer evening!

Should really finish this! 032 The Fratellis "Henrietta" (UK Chart Position - 19) Buy us some shoes and maybe take us for cola, we'll get you there in some filthy big gondola...This is the last single I bought. Quite a while ago now... It was the first song that really made me take notice of them and is easily my favourite of theirs. Only "Creepin..." and "Vince The Lovable Stoner" come close to matching it on the album. 031 The Good, The Bad & The Queen "Herculean" (UK Chart Position - 22) That it all gets better when life is straight, it's bigger than you and the Welfare State...The top song this year made by a "supergroup". It's most fantastic. Loved it from first listen. The beat all the way through it highly addictive. It's yet another marvellous project from Damon Albarn and I can't wait for the album in January/February!

030 Goldfrapp "Ride A White Horse"When the light turns into darkness, will he turn up to explain us....I never understood why "Supernature" recieved so much critisism. Yes, it was very different and more commercial than their previous to albums but it was still fantastic! This was one of the best tracks on it, I only like Satin Chic more! Hopefully there will be a fourth album at some point in the next year! 029 Lily Allen "LDN" (UK Chart Position - 06) A fella lookin' dapper and he's sittin' with a slapper, then I see it's a pimp and his crackwhore...This was the first Lily Allen song I heard way back in February/March time when she first emerged. I loved it right from the first listen and knew it could be a huge smash it. It wasnt't but that was because it was released at the wrong time of the year. A song perfect for summer released twice; once in Spring and the other at the beginning of Autumn. Makes no sense at all Her album is fabulous bar a couple of duff, slower tracks. She does seem to have rather a large amount of haters and many people who say she can't sing. I agree that she's not an amazing singer but she sings songs that suit her!

028 Scott Matthews "Elusive" (UK Chart Position - 56) A mystery now to me and you, open my eyes and I'm next to you...This was the first song I ever heard by him and it reminded me a bit of "Hope There's Someone" in ways as it's sung with a hell of a lot of emotion and he has an extrmely touching voice. I've heard a few more songs on his album including new single "Dream Song" and they seem alright but nothing anywhere near as special as this! 027 Wigwam "Wigwam" (UK Chart Position - 60) #disco# Checking out out my wigwam wigwam wigwam, checking out my boo, boo, boo...And the third and final Blur member features! This time, it's Alex James collaborating with Betty Boo to make Wigwam. This song is most certainly not to be taken seriously. It's just a bit of camp fun! I thought this would be much bigger than it was but unfortunately no one seemed to pick up on it...

026 Mew "The Zookeeper's Boy" (UK Chart Position - 80) You're tall just like a giraffe, you have to climb to find its head....Really good song from a very underrated band even though I can't actually tell what he's singing most of the time! The highest placed, and probably only, Danish act on this countdown! It wasn't a song I took much notice of when it was first released, it was about a month after that I actually really go into it. 025 The Feeling "Love It When You Call" (UK Chart Position - 18) Remember me, I used to be the best time buddy who you couldn't wait to see....The second single of theirs on here and what's easily the standout track from a very impressive debut album. They aren't an excellent band but they make some damn catchy radio-friendly pop songs. And if they continue to make them I shall be pleased. It's been a bit over a year since I first heard them and I've liked them ever since!

024 Gomez "Girlshapedlovedrug" (UK Chart Position - 66) I tell you everytime my tears run dry, the moment's long and we design...Gone are the days when Gomez won Mercury Prize's and had a huge amount of recognition for songs like "Whipping Picadilly". But they've still kept going and despite now being almost completely forgotten are making fantastic pop songs like this. A superb video to match too. This would actually fit quite well on The Feeling's album... 023 The Long Blondes "Weekend Without Makeup" (UK Chart Position - 28) There are wants and there are needs and they're two very different things, you can love or be in love, again they're two very different things....This wasn't a song I became aware of until after it was released. I don't really know much about them but they are pretty good. The next single "Once And Never Again" is also pretty good but just missed out on my top 100. Had "Autonomy Boy" been a single that would've made it though. Kate Jackson is fit too, always a good thing!
