Then get rid of Neneh Cherry and Kelis, hardly had enough success to make them worthy of inclusion! I thought this would generate debate... ;D

If we're talking UK, you have to get rid of Jewel... she's had hardly any success here at all!

Would get rid of Dannii Minogue and Roberta Flack.

Defence is allowed, doesn't all have to be offence we still need to save 13 of these women OK... 1. Carly Simon made "You're So Vain", one of the best songs ever! 2. She sang a Bond theme. And quite possibly the best Bond theme at that. 3. She's had 4 singles spend longer than 10 weeks on the chart, a feat not matched by a few of the others on there.

I would say that Cary Simon can stay for me, You're so vain is a class tune... Roberta Flack, Roberta Who.

When we talk about biggest female singers you can't really drop Joni Mitchell or Janis Joplin. Although i'm not particularly a fan their influence huge and has spread across decades. Can we say the same about Kelis and Neneh Cherry. Their influence and record sales are pitiful in comparison. END OF!

And Roberta Flack did sing two of the greatest love songs ever:
"Killing me softy" and "First time ever I saw your face"
