I can't believe Sonia's 30 yet, never mind the song. The song is all kinds of fab ,of course. It's a 10/10, but so is Can't Forget You and End of The World, and all the album tracks too.

A Happy 30th Birthday to this one too! This written for Donna Summer song before their contractual/fall out/whatever it was that caused her to walk away from SAW/PWL was still a brilliant pop song and top 5 for Lonnie. Happy Birthday Happenin’!
I would rather not speak of the Tracey Shaw version.

I see also Hazell Dean “Heart First” has a two CD rerelease on Cherry Red with extra bits and pieces on January 31st. I only bought the vinyl retrospectively at the time about 1989? but the Always album had the better version of No Fool (For Love), and Whatever I Do was on Hit Factory, so never really went back to it much.
Its probably been slated for a rerelease for ages, but only noticed as it was front page on iTunes of upcoming releases of all places. And it’s 5.99 so will download for completeness sake as I don’t buy physical formats anymore.
Track listing:
DISC ONE
1. BACK IN MY ARMS (ONCE AGAIN) 2. SEARCHIN’ 3. BREAK THE RULES 4. WHATEVER I DO (WHEREVER I GO) 5. YOU’RE TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE 6. BACK IN MY ARMS (ONCE AGAIN) [REPRISE] 7. HEART FIRST 8. NO FOOL (FOR LOVE) 9. HARMONY 10. DEVIL IN YOU 11. EVERYTHING I NEED
BONUS TRACKS
12. EVERGREEN 13. JEALOUS LOVE 14. STAY IN MY LIFE 15. YOUNG BOY IN THE CITY 16. TAKE ME HOME 17. NO FOOL (FOR LOVE) [7” MIX] 18. YOU’RE TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE [EXTRA BEAT BOYS REMIX] 19. SEARCHIN’ [12” VERSION] 20. EVERGREEN [EXTENDED VERSION]
DISC TWO
1. HEART FIRST [MATT POP CLUB MIX] 2. WHATEVER I DO (WHEREVER I GO) [DANCE MIX] 3. BACK IN MY ARMS (ONCE AGAIN) [DANCE MIX] 4. NO FOOL (FOR LOVE) [DANCE VERSION] 5. JEALOUS LOVE [EXTENDED VERSION] 6. SEARCHIN’ [MEGAMIX] 7. WHATEVER I DO (WHEREVER I GO) [EXTENDED REMIX] 8. NO FOOL (FOR LOVE) [THE MURRAY MIX] 9. SEARCHIN’ [INSTRUMENTAL] 10. NO FOOL (FOR LOVE) [PART TWO INSTRUMENTAL] 11. WHATEVER I DO (WHEREVER I GO) [DUB MIX] 12. NO FOOL (FOR LOVE) [DUBAJOKER MIX]

I re-read this whole thread today. I learned that I used to type 'lol' far too much, and that Jan and Stewie need to return ASAP! Happy Birthday to Happenin' All Over Again. I bought it at the time, and never heard anything else of hers 'til I got online in 2004. I think How Could He Do This To Me is fab , so (like others said earlier in the thread) it's mind boggling that it was cancelled and buried for so long. It woulda been her best shot at not being a one hit wonder. I've never bought Hazells Heart First, but know some of the tracks from a budget Greatest Hits album, though more likely to put on Always. I would've liked her to have been a ESC entrant but don't think either of her entries were that great - I take it that Stay In My Life on your tracklist is the same Stay In My Life from 1984 NF.

Classic Pop magazine Hit Factory special issue out next week: shop.anthem.co.uk/all-products/classic-pop-presents.htmI was tempted by the Complete Fan Pack but £30 felt a bit steep, so I've opted for the Kylie and Jason cover instead! Heart First CD on order with Cherry Red (thanks to this thread!) and have just bought Mandy Smith's CD this week - such a shame she didn't achieve any chart success here, I Just Can't Wait is such a good pop song (although I could do without the spoken bit in the middle)

It also inspired an afternoon of non-stop S/A/W listening! Considering how their records were dismissed as throwaway pop by many, a lot of their songs have aged remarkably well.

Definitely that spoken bit in I Just Can’t Wait kinda ruins it for me too. Otherwise Mandy is a great listen to, even if it was a warm up for which tracks should we give to other artists (like Sinitta))

Really enjoying this little gem from Blue Mercedes, have just come across it on the retro-chart. Much prefer this to I Want To Be Your Property, their only real hit here. I didn't realise they were a S/A/W act, but this is produced by Harding and Curnow. May have to see if I can track down their album....

I saw a performance of I Want To Be Your Property on some palladium type show, but can't remember if I liked the song, that one time I heard it. I've always thought it was their only song. I like that See Want Must Have. It sounds quite Brother Beyond to me.

I tracked down on Spotify the Rich And Famous album after the comment Kingpin , and really enjoyed it. I Want To Be Your Property is definitely the highlight for me - although the strangely titled slightly sounding like a Spandau Ballet song, Crunchy Love Affaire, was a nice dramatic album closer. I have Scarlet Fantastic “24 Hours” lined up for the morning commute tomorrow.

I had the album come through today, really good couple of first listens, they should have been huge, loving it!!

18 weeks sounds rather a lot! This is what I found on the SA Rock Lists website:

Also number 11 year end: The "official" SA stop being compiled in 1989 - some of the lengths of number ones are quite strange (e.g. The Locomotion 11 weeks), but as far as I can see just the one week from Hazell. Not sure where the 18 weeks comes from, unless I am looking at completely the wrong chart of course.

Sorry for a third post in a row! Here is the original by Kerry Delius, which is OK, but then I am used to the HD version.

Our Haze did an interview with Classic Pop and said TSIGR was number one for 18 weeks there. Just struck me as a bit odd that's all. Loving that Brother Louie and Sandra are so high in the year end chart!!

I can’t say I’m 100% correct Kingpin - I was also not in SA at that point! But this is the only chart resource I can find online which points this to an official SA chart of some sorts - I matched it up with another site that has Top 20s, but doesn’t publish anything past 1983. We have lots of Coca Cola or iTunes Charts now, and in last year published Spotify, but somewhere along the line an official chart seems to not exist! I will PM you the link I have - but can’t find anything about 18 weeks. Unless Our Haze has secret info.
