Does anyone remember sabrina? Especially her song "Boys" from 1988. Her massive single Boys was a real eye opener. Well the video was. Thing is I liked the song, sure it was a 12" I had, then I seen the video and just fell in love with her. The video: uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ytPa_IS5CaY

Hmm... i bet it was a real eye opener I have the video of My Chico on some compilation, hillarious!I like the extended version of All of me up to where the vocals kicks in.Her voice unfortunately just gets to me! Oh I very much remember Boys from school discos. I didn't buy it, but ended up owning it on Now 12 (or was it Now 11).
I did however, buy the SAW produced follow up All Of Me, but it ended there, Chico and Like A Yo-yo were not the greatest.
What happened to her after the 80's?

There was big rivalry between Sabrina and Sam Fox - probably all made up by the press, but back then I totally believed it,and I was on Sams side.lol.
I loved the first two singles. A friend of mine tried to get me into her other music.Hmm.Some of it's not bad at all. Some of the songs are pretty good. Her voice just lets her down on some of them.

Oh, I kind of vaguely remember the rivalry lark. However Sabrina was never going to top the greatness of Nothings Gonna Stop Me Now.

lol aah yes the groaning.I loved the Touch Me remake too with that spooky Gunther bloke.
I'm suprised that noone ever covered 'Nothing's Gonna Stop Me Now' - it sounds just as good now,as it did back then.
I think the last sighting of Sabrina was on that 'Hit me Baby One More Time' tv show.I wonder will there ever be another series of that ?

I rather enjoyed that programme, there were several people on there it was great seeing again. The main on being the fabulous Jaki Graham. I forgot Sabrina was on there as well. It was old Shaky who won in the end wasn't it?

Yeah I think you're right about Shakey.
I didn't get to see it as I didn't have the Uk tv stations back then : ( I used to follow it on the website though, which made me want to see it even more. Ooh a friend recorded me Sabrinas performance only - so that's as much as I got to see of the series. She performed the Sugarbabes hit 'Hole In My Head' and was pretty good actually.Better than I expected.
There was an album released after the tv show and I was hoping it would have all the singers versions of other peoples hits that they performed in the show, but it didn't.It was just a cd of each acts biggest hit (which most viewers would already have).

I felt a bit conned by the Hit Me Baby One More Time CD as well. I think I had pretty much all the songs on there on other compilation albums, so gave it a miss.
I would have bought it if it was the alternate songs for the show, and probably would have just to hear Belinda Carlisle butching "The Scientist" again.
I'll Youtube the Sabrina performance later to remind myself.

I don't think i'll be able to stomach the Sabrina's version of Hole in the head.Talking of Jaki Graham, great artist. Can't get enough of her hit song Round and around.

I like Jaki Graham too.Didn't she do Kylies 'Slow' on the show but it didn't suit her (from what I read on forums at the time,or maybe I'm mixing her up with one of the other acts.lol) She did backing vocals on Kim Wildes Love Moves album - the tracks she sang on,were the albums best !
Didn't Shalamar appear without Jody Watley ? And not even Delisa Davis either ? lol.I think they won that week too - how did that happen ?
I'd loved to have seen the US version of Hit Me Baby One More Time too.I think Tiffany was on both versions (wasn't she ?) I wonder was there a Cd soundtrack for the US show and if it was the same con job as the UK release ?

Ahh cheers Smurfie. I see I was mixing up Jaki Graham with Princess.lol.Easy mistake to make ?
I'd like to have seen Limahl do Maroon 5 - I reckon that song would suit him. Kenny Thomas singing Norah Jones - that must have been gorgeous ! Sinitta doing 'Single' ?? Odd choiced, surely 'These Words' would have been better ? Oohh Cleopatra - they should have been successful for longer.Great voices. Honeyz success ended kinda suddenly too. Nathan Moore.Mmmmm.
I didn't know that 911s biggest hit was 'Bodyshakin'.I don't even remember it.I would have guessed their big hit was that 'Love You Just A Little Bit More' song !
I quite like Tiffany (though I MUCH preferred Debbie Gibson - seeing as their names were always said in the same sentence lol). Back then ,I only liked 'I Think We're Alone Now' Radio Romance' and 'Could've Been'.I bought her Best Of album a few months ago.I was only expecting to like those three tracks but I ended up liking EVERY track (except 'I Saw Him Standing There - that was always absolute bobbins).
There's a lot of acts I'd like to have seen there.Obviously I didn't see the performances but I'd be surprised if those in the final were truly the best and most deserving.
If there was a new series,I wonder who'd be in it.

There were so many interesting choices of songs, but their are so many that were performed that I don't even remember now. Haddaway just looked like a complete sex pest in his all black leather number! Belinda Carlisles version of The Scientist was so awful that I loved it, and Hue And Cry's Crazy In Love was fabulous . Jaki Graham was just completely barking mad, and Baccara were just , well er...Baccara! As for the awful ones: Honeyz China Black Dreadful dreadful cover versions. But this still doesn't any jog any memory of Sabrina (desperatly tries to stay on topic ) I'm not sure ITV would not be in the market for another series, as the rates were not great at the end, and Vernon Kay presenting it was complete pants. I would like to think the format idea has completely been scrapped though. Get's the old pop has-beens out and about I guess.

I would've loved to see it, some of the older PWL acts would be great to see.I've liked China Black's music, strange that they were not great.

Was it Jackie Graham that done "I Believe In Dreams"??
Used to play that 12" all the time. I know it was Jackie but can't remember her second name.
