Mine too! *signs register* And ugh, 1995 was a terrible year for number ones. 95 was the year I went to Uni, so it would have been Ace of Base and Dubstar for me that year!

I bought two of that years number ones: Livin Joy - Dreamer Simply Red - Fairground However, I do own You Are Not Alone (was given a free promo by a friend who worked in an Exeter record shop), Earth Song (given it for Christmas), Cotton Eye Joe (friend left the single around my house, and never retreived it - honest! ). Edit: Oops! I just realised I bought Gangsta's Paradise too!

Hmmm. I tended to avoid "Love Can Build A Bridge" as well. I didn't like it when it was previously released to this, and kind of bucked the trend of being a humourous Comic Relief charity record. Notwithstanding it's a terribly dull little song.
Obviously, I use the word "humourous" in the loosest sense possible.

Lisa Loeb, who??She 1 half a decent song? I used to like kd lang although her success dried up after 1992's Ingenue which is a brilliant album imo.Constant craving is such a brilliant pop song. I still liked M People back then, but teir music has dated quite badly.Itchycoo Park's David Morales mix is the only one i still listen to every now and then.

Lisa Loeb did EXACTLY one decent song - Stay (I Missed You). I think the other half of her band were the Nine Stories? That song came out the same week as the much better Donna Lewis track. I struggle to think how she was Best International Breakthrough artist though? I must look up who were contenders. I would have thought 94/95 it would have been a bit more-Eurodancetastic for artists, but then I'm guessing thats not the Brit panels idea of cool. (Though possibly Weezer wouldn't have gone amiss).

Never cared for M People - their songs all sounded the same. And Heather's nasally vocals were too much for my young ears.
Nice to see Eddie Reader get mentioned - Patience of Angels is timeless!

I love Patience Of Angels! M-People, I must admit, were never a favourite of mine. One Night In Heaven was OK, but thereon after, everything sounded ridiculously alike. I think the only other M-People single I bought was Testify. Looking at the Brit awards has also reminded me that in the first year at Uni, it was "cool" to have the Pulp Fiction movie poster on your wall. In fact I'm sure they even gave them out at the Freshers Fair! I didn't, however. I think I had a Morrissey poster!

I like one song of Weezer, Buddy Holly!!Can't get enough of it, Beverly Hills and the rest are painful to listen to though.

Yes, thats the same Paul Weller! Personally I CANNOT STAND Paul Weller. I think I've liked about two Style Council songs, and one solo (Uh Huh Oh Yeah), but I have liked a couple of the Jam ones (Surrender, Bitterest Pill).
