What's your earliest childhood memory Sim? Some people claim to be able to remember specific things when they were 3 or 4 but find that hard to believe really.

I actually have a vague memory of when I was about 1! I remember being on the balcony of the flats we lived in, and my cat being out there sunning herself. We moved away before I was 2 so the memory has to come from that time period!

What do you think of the school system as it is these days? Do you think we need more disapline in our schools? Do you like the way the kids are being taught also?
I am asking for a reason, kids are wild these days and it is hard to control some of them also i have three kids and find at the primary anyway i do a lot of his work at home with him, can't remember that when i was at school.

I think kids are too aware of their rights and feel untouchable. School used to be based around respect and even fear of teachers as superiors, now it's a constant battle for children to even listen let alone respect teachers. The value of education needs reinforcing in young people - there's too much of this, "I could be on X Factor/Big Brother etc" or "Dad never bothered and he's got his own business, so why should I?" (especially at the school I teach at where mum is a beautician and dad's a plasterer so why study at school). The curriculum needs spicing up too, this idea of immersive study where you do like a whole day of a subject, or ten minutes each day of languages etc, rather than silly arbitrary 1 hour segments, seems the way forward.

I'm quite old fashioned i like the alphabet way learn it then do the words, not keen on the word tins. I do think the goverement has went mad with this politically correct stuff, kids need to learn the function of going to school is to be educated. All this punishing the parent stuff the kids don't give too hoots.

A year 7 girl at Rachel's new Catholic secondary Sim had written on the toilet wall "school sucks, no point as I'm leaving at 16, pregnant and council house or rich guy" She came home telling me last night but no-one knows who wrote it.

Watch a classic film, some fine comedy, take a walk in the country - got some beautiful countryside around me. Or else snuggle up with either my fella or my pussy!

How many pets do you have?Do you believe cat people shouldn't marry dog people? I have just Kenny - full name Kenneth Genghis Meowth Lewis - but at the height of our pet loving, we had 2 cats, a dog and a parrot! I was always a dog person, loved my dog, she was my boyhood friend and was gutted when she had to be put down about 5 years ago. We got Kenny in 2000 and I instantly bonded with him - he's so sweet and loving and dog-like in some ways. I guess at heart I'm a cat person, as is my other half. But his pussy is fat and ginger!

Thanks Mel. I still think of him as a kitten even though he's 7!

Missed this one! Tough question. My favourite bands are Blur, the Manics and Hard-Fi. But there are dozens of acts I love.

I like Oasis, obviously the whole Blur Vs. Oasis thing didn't pass me by though! Favourite Oasis singles are "Wonderwall", "Stand By Me", "Sunday Morning Call", "Stop Crying Your Heat Out" and "The Importance of Being Idle". Would have to go back and listen to the albums to pick a favourite track though.
