So far so good for England, James Anderson has taken three wickets as New Zealand stumble to 104-5. England have kept the same team that won the last test in NZ and today's performance suggests the selectors got it right! Go England

Great start for England but it was a huge toss to win, I feel...

McCullum is the key, we need to get him out before he starts to settle in and build a sizeable innings!

A spark of brilliance from Monty Panesar and McCullum is out!

The 2 that are still in can do a job though unless we take them out early tomorrow.

Vettori remains, but Oram is gone... 260-8 at lunch, but Vettori and Southee are both handy, as we found out in the away series (Southee was the one who had a ridiculously good innings at the tail).

Just 40 minutes of play today due to rain. England moved on to 89-0, with Cook reaching 50.
A draw looks very likely.

If they get enough time England should try and get up with New Zealand's score then declare and try and bowl them out cheaply .

Looks very much like a draw now. England all out for 319, only 42 runs ahead, and NZ are now 13-0.

40-0 at stumps, NZ two runs behind, one day left. They might as well not bother playing it.
IMO they should set a sixth day aside for use when they lose more than 90 overs (ie, a full day's play) due to bad weather.

If the balls swinging i can see england knocking them over but for how many i dont know.

Since England's run rate is slower, they'd probably have to get all 10 wickets within a single session. Can't see that happening.
