A bit of everything in this batch... A very strong string of songs that could have ended up higher but ultimately didn't make the Hottest 50... The sexiest girl in the world "Scarlett Johansson" opens up this batch... There are some promising debuts from acts like "Fleet Foxes", 18 yr old "Lisa Mitchell" and "One Little Plane", household names on my personal charts "Ladytron", "CSS" and "Goldfrapp" as well as solid efforts from "Notwist", "Envelopes" and "M83".

3 indie dancefloor bangers in the shape of "The Kills", "Sons & Daughters" and local act "Areola Treat"... The darker tones of "The Howling Bells" & "John & Jehn"... Club anthem "The Journey Continues"... Chill-out anthem "4 AM"... Late "Late Of The Pier" thunderous single... The awesome "Tilly & The Wall" & possibly the world's biggest hit of the year... "Viva La Vida" round up this batch...

The biggest "Duke Spirit" hit is followed by the biggest local hit in "Untitled Forever"... "Ladyhawke" dominates this batch with 2 appearances with the highest one in my Top 100 is her collaboration with "Pnau" sitting @ #31... "Laura Marling" appears for the forth time with the "Mystery Jets" but there's still another song to come while it's the 1st of 3 for "Lykke Li"... There's definitely a touch of female singer/songwriters in this set with "Martha Wainwright" and also "Feist" with her first of 2 songs to feature in my year end chart... Finally there's my current #1 hit "Monster Song" by "Psapp"... It climbs all the way to #32 while an early hit for "Hot Chip" makes it to #38.

Zone 30 starts with a bang... "Friendly Fires" are followed up by the #1 smash "That's Not My Name"... Definitely last Summer's soundtracks in the indie clubs... Lead singles from sophomore albums by the now defunct "Long Blondes" and "CSS" sit @ #26 and #25 respectively... The final appearance for "Feist" lands in @ #28... It's also the last time we're going to meet "Stars" and "Late Of The Pier" while there is more to come from "Vampire Weekend", "Robyn" and "The Hot Puppies"... The former has 2 more inside the Top 20!

Good to see a Duke Spirit fan! I really like their album although neither of their singles quite managed to make my top 100! Quite a lot I haven't heard, although Ben Folds and Regina is certainly intruiging. 'No Sunlight' is one of the better songs of DCFC's album which I got last week. Yeah!!! I've been a Duke Spirit fan since 2005... I really loved their hits "Lion Rip" & "Cuts Across The Land" so I was really looking forward to this years "Neptune" which didn't disappoint I think that I should get DCFC's album but I'm not so sure... I LOVE "No Sunlight" but I wasn't such a fan of their other singles!
