What was the US track supposed to be, just a US track, or a classic? Alex was fab, but I've never heard that song before in my life, so hardly a classic? As for Eggnog doing something from High School Musical, the dvd may have sold millions, the single didn't. It was LAME. Shame that Ruth went, but sadly if she doesn't get enough phone votes that happens. To me the final 2 will be Eggnog and Alex, and maybe JLS in there, Diana has lost it bigtime imo. Alex's song was the oscar-nominated track from "Dreamgirls" which was a hit over here for Beyonce. I found Owen's choice odd too, but then I thought, a million teenage girls will now have fallen even further in love with him. They won't care whether the song was a hit, they know it and love it and now he's part of that.

I think the main reason people are giving Britney a hard time is that it was her themed week, which instantly ruined every single contestant's chances as whilst her songs are pop masterpieces for the mostpart, they are not *singers'* songs. People who can sing do themselves no favours by singing Britney songs. Add that to the fact she refused to mentor them or meet them, then all the rumours of the backstage nonsense - no photos, no one allowed to watch from the wings etc and it adds up to a bit of a letdown, but still ratings gold which is what the Powers That Be were after, as people tuned in to see if she'd lost it etc.

I SO wanted a Ruth Vs Alex grand finale' ! Ruth wuz robbed ! I voted for Ruth singing 'Always'.I also voted for Alex singing 'Listen' - I don't know that song, but it was my fav performance of the series.
JLS were weak on both songs. I thought that Eoghan and Diana were poor on both songs.Actually ''poor' is too polite - they were rubbish.'Everybody Hurts' actually made me laugh.
I don't think Britney should have mimed, but she didn't even mime very well !

Thought it was a shame that Ruth went - I think she has really grown during the series. Eggnog should have gone tonight - probably Diana next week.

Add that to the fact she refused to mentor them or meet them. I don't want to sound like a delluded fan or anything and I certainly don't see Britney with rose-tinted glasses, however, the fact that she was performing and promoting in Germany and France for the days before X Factor and only arrived in the UK on the day of the show is the reason why she didn't mentor.

I'm sure she could easily have filmed a two minute piece with each of the five acts. It's not like there were 12 acts for her to spend time with! I sincerely doubt that any of the earlier mentors actually spent *that* much time with the contestants! She could even have been there during the first half giving some comments before they performed or *something*. It just seems like the X Factor bosses were chasing ratings rather than doing anything at all to help the acts!

I hope Alex wins. It seems the judges are beginning to support her more now and much less Diana. Think her and Eoghan will be the last two. Apart from Alex what a disappointing final 4. It all seemed so good earlier in the series. Loved Ruth but she was living on borrowed time with the way the previous voting had gone. Loved the fact Louis was crying during her last performance.
What a rubbish pair of pop stars they had on. Miley was average but at least she has youth on her side. Britney's performance was lumpy and she should no longer display her arse. It is not looking great in widescreen (or any TV screen). Her extensions were dreadful and her hair looked greasy.
But I love Womanizer.

Yeah she didn't even have a sexy stride to her walk on stage, it was all a bit clumpy. She didn't really seem that sure of her dance steps either.

Was really gutted (and still am) that Ruth went on Saturday night. She gave two fantastic performances and i hope she gets a deal as i'd love to see her perform again. To me she puts everything into each performance. Only other person i'd like to see win now is Alex. Diana should not win this show, she was awful at the weekend and ruined one of my favourtie songs (Everybody Hurts).
As for Britney, well that was just cringing to watch. Knew she'd mime as she always does, don't think i've ever seen her sing live. Dancing was bad and talking to Dermot after was even worse. She was either not listening to a word Dermot was saying or just completely in a trance! lol

I'm sure she'd have survived if it were just American Classics week or maybe the flattery angle was the only thing that got her on the show? Yes, and you expect anything different? It's all about the ratings and sales darling!

Alexandre's the hot favourite at 8/13 but bookies report a sudden avalanche of bets being put on JLS. They're now 8/4 with Euoghan just behind at 9/4
