From AOL:
Former Big Brother housemate Dawn Blake has gone on hunger strike in a bid to force the show's producers to hand over unedited footage of her time inside.
The 38-year-old yoga fanatic said she was held against her will and needs evidence of her requesting to leave the house to support a complaint she has made to police.
Dawn said she was also furious about assertions made in the programme that she had refused to wash.
The Birmingham exercise scientist insisted she had taken three showers and washed a further three times during her six days on the show.
Dawn said: "When I came out of the Big Brother house I saw how I was portrayed and a lot of it is not true, it's been edited in a way I don't like, not because I don't look so great but because it's just not true.
"When they said they booted me out, I said I wanted to leave. When they said Dawn refused to wash, that was so untrue.
"I am asking for a copy of the unedited footage in its entirety and I will remain on hunger strike until I get it. I will continue until I pass out.''
Dawn said she could not afford the legal fees to bring a case for defamation and going on hunger strike was her only option.
In a statement, she said: "I was smeared by the production team as a smelly cheat. I have therefore decided until I get all the footage requested unedited and documentation I will go on hunger strike as of today. I want everyone to see what happened in the house and only getting the tapes will you all see the truth.''
A spokeswoman for the programme said Dawn, who left last week, was booted out of the Big Brother house for breaking the rules.

Will BB even care if she goes on hunger strike?

Well, seems like a bit of a publicity stunt but surely under the Freedom of Information Act she should be able to get any information collected by the house on her (and that includes video tapes). Seems like BB has something to hide - it's all going tits up, isn't it!

I think depriving the housemates of their personal belongings for a week is a step too far - even prisoners don't get that.
And the Bigbrotherhood task was way to divisive a task - especially in the first week.

Yeah i think the Brotherhood task and the suitcase thing are what has spoiled the show
I still like it though, but its bn spolit with people leaving early on and i hate when they add new housemates

Regarding what has gone wrong, I'll start a thread and see what could make it better Homes p makes a very valid point about freedom of information act, does it apply to bb? Or do you sign away those rights when you go in the house?

It never fails to astound me that these people are so naive as to think they're automatically going to be edited to appear like great people. Have they never watched it before?!!!
And, yes, let her starve for all I care - I quite liked her at first but she's irritated me no end since she's left the house.

Dawn Rushed to Hospital After Collapse
Fainted: Dawn Blake has been on a hunger strike in protest at her treatment by Big Brother
Ejected Big Brother housemate Dawn Blake collapsed while discussing the psychological pressures of the reality TV show, it has been reported.
The evictee - who started a hunger strike after being thrown off the Big Brother show for breaking house rules - collapsed during a visit to the Mental Health Foundation in London.
She was taken to hospital for treatment but continued to refuse food. She has now been fasting for six days. "Dawn is weak from the hunger strike and I fear for her life," close friend Anita Aheer told the Birmingham Mail.
"She doesn't want to eat anything and Dawn is one of those people who always sees something through.
"She kept telling nurses she wouldn't break the hunger strike. All Dawn wants is justice and wants all the footage of when she was in the house so she can prove she was not a cheat or smelly."
The 38-year-old yoga fanatic's hunger strike is aimed at forcing the show's producers to hand over unedited footage of her time inside.
Dawn claimed she was held against her will and needs evidence of her requesting to leave the house to support a complaint she has made to police.
Dawn said she was also furious about assertions made in the programme that she had refused to wash.

She doesn't want to eat anything and Dawn is one of those people who always sees something through. Er... not the best thing to say in the context of someone who insists she walked from Big Brother...

I can see her getting sectioned before long.
It was a bit childish of BB though - "you can't quit, you're already fired" kind-of-thing, but she's not doing herself any favours with this. The public probably think she's more of a nutter now than when she was in the house.
