When by Showaddywaddy... followed by Ma Baker by Boney M and Live In Trouble by the Barron Knights. But I did get an album Hit Action by K-Tel which had lots of hits on it.
Most of the songs I was happy to just have taped from the radio and often my buying strategy was based around what I didn't have a good taped version of. So a rationale behind buying "Ma Baker" is that I probably always missed the bit where "Freeze I'm Ma Baker" came on because it was unlike most songs that had an instrumental intro before the first vocal bit.

First 7" I owned where 'Mull of Kintyre' - Wings and 'Rivers Of Babylon' - Boney M. First 7" I bought with my own money was Huey Lewis & the News - Stuck with you in 1986.
