Well he's signing today! A two year playing contract, I believe! I do see your point though, the defence is good enough already but we're a little lacking in terms of depth. Unfortunately Edwards or Thompson will have to make way for him in the team. Also it's difficult to comment on money because no one is sure how much the Munto Finance group are planning on investing in the club! It makes a bit of a mockery of the so called League 2 wage cap though!!! Interesting to know how they got round this one but there are obviously a lot of loop holes in the rule. That is an interesting point you raise actually, teams are only allowed to apy so much in wages, it equates to a certain % of their gate receipts doesn't it? So like you say, how can you be employing someone who must be on £50,000 a week! Dont you get put on a transfer embargo if you break the cap? Sure that happened to Stockport or some other team that had been above it's means, maybe Chester? They had to release the high earners? Obviously you get great crowds and they are only going to get bigger (if you stay at the top of the league), but they still dont cover the wages of that one player, let alone your squad?

easy, pay him 2k a week (wages) and give him a 3 million signing on fee or some other kinda fee that dosen't break the terms of thew wage cap.

I'm sure there are plenty of ways of getting around it. Either do what Daz said or artificially increase revenue. Making an extra 20,000 shirts and Munto buying them all at £45 a pop...

What is it you're studying at uni Mark? You're right though. Clubs with fabulously wealthy owners will always be able to find ways round the rules.

And today Sol Campbell has walked out on Notts! To be honest I'm really not that bothered, his performance at Morecambe was poor and it seemed apparent he didn't want to be there. I'd rather we had players dedicated to furthering their careers than big time Charlies like Campbell who think they are going to get an easy pay packet!

Is Christie Park that bad?
He could have at least stayed for a home game...

Must admit i did wonder how long he would stick it out for, couldnt see him staying there for 5 years, but thought he'd at least give it a season let alone leave after just one game! How much longer do you think McParland has got?

MacParland has, I believe, 2-3 games to improve the results otherwise he will be on his way. I might go on Saturday against Port Vale, will be interesting to see how the team bounces back from this weeks distractions!

Is Christie Park that bad? It's nicer than Fratton Park, and he was quite happy there.

He's not leaving because of the rumblings going on in the background over your takeover? And I feel for McParland really, because when they lose it's his fault and when they win Sven is a genius! If you dont get promoted this season, I will be very interested to see what happens, will the backers stay with you, or dump you, if so, have you still got the buckets left from the last time you ask away fans to cough up?

Surely they will go up. League 2 is the easiest league in England to be promoted from!

He may not score the goals but he'll be a good holding player and support for Lee Hughes (hopefully!!)
