Since I'm starting to post on here fairly regularly with the Songs Of The 00s contest, and I'm about to begin posting my annual Top 200, I thought it'd be a good time to post a thread.
I don't have many posts, but I've been around on and off since Dotmusic back in 1998...

I was doing a PhD up until February - I still haven't fully completed this because I have the thesis defence (viva) exam next month. At the moment, though, I'm working as a statistician in the civil service.

The PhD is in Bioinformatics. The specific topic is correlation of gene expression in a rat model of human cardiovascular disease.

Assuming you're right handed,if you wrote your shopping list with your left hand, could it still be easily read ?

Right-handed. It would be pretty straggly and hard to read but probably just about legible.

Its a blog, mostly about pubs and ale. I haven't posted there in a while, though there's a beer festival later this week I might post about.

For anyone who likes to have a record of such things... KingB is now Milliways.

Why Milliways? No, not a midlife crisis. A good few years ago, someone asked me what I would call my (fictional) band. I imagined them as being a kind of glam/punk/upbeat rock band with lots of keyboards and FX, and I named them Milliways after the Restaurant At the End of the Universe in the Douglas Adams book. Since then I've used that name, and not 'KingB' for other music-related stuff, most recently plug.dj ( plug.dj/indiegoogle/). I have never really liked the name KingB all that much. I didn't really put a lot of thought into it (it's a play on the title of a rather obscure song [Marine Research - 'Queen B'] that I must've listened to shortly before I signed up); I don't think I thought I'd spend as much time on Haven as I actually do when I first called myself that.
