I started it today: Get Real Music Back Into The ChartsRemember not only to join the group but to listen to the recommended tracks too. My plan isn't to force people to buy them just to rig the chart but at least get people to listen to them. If I can get 10,000 members (2% of that RATM group) and 20% of them buy a song that's 2000 sales, approximately what it needs for a top 40 place, I think. Or maybe I need 3,000. Still, I hope it will make a difference. To do that I need the group to grow.

Only 169 members. Needs a lot more if it stands a chance of making an impact.

At the time it was an old style group so we couldn't just add members.
I still do promote songs, not quite as frequently as I used to, but regularly enough. I think it now requires 5,000 sales to get into the top 40, not just 2,000, so if I had a group of 10,000, half of them would have to buy the music promoted.
We have promoted quite a lot of good music too. One of them did actually get into the top 40, although it was probably not the influence of our group - that was "Animal" by Neon Trees, which reached #40 earlier this year.
Another group we promoted got into the top 40, that being the Vaccines, towards the end of 2010 with Wreckin' Bar (Ra Ra Ra).
