Mystery Girl
The Mystery Girls were one of those acts who hit the unofficial charts but not the official, "Ash In Drag" reaching the NME and Melody Maker top fifties, but only 82 in Gallup.
So when the name Mystery Girl turned up in the top ten a few years later, was it because one of the MGs had teamed up with none other than Michael Jackson? Alas no.
No mystery about who was in the video, of course, and Naomi was trying to get a pop career, but she wasn't the vocalist on the single. Perhaps they were trying to hint at it being her as the credit is Michael Jackson & Mystery Girl. So helping Ms Campbell without outright lying.
But who actually was the Mystery Girl?
Princess Stephanie of Monaco. I sh*t you not. Who had had one of the biggest selling singles ever in France with "Ouragan", which only bubbled under here. Little known fact: Alain Prost had sex with her on the eve of the 1984 Portuguese Grand Prix.
