Which of these songs in the year 1977 in your view should not have been #1, I am doing polls for the whole Seventies this time, once we have 10 winners (we have to split up some years there is not enough options on a poll to match the #1's in a year plus joint winners) we will have a last poll to decide which song out of the years 1970-1979 should not have been #1.
These are 3 day polls this time.

But if Pipes Of Peace won the 1984 poll, then I expect Mull Of Kintyre to walk this year's poll.

The year I got into music. I own every one of those songs on 7", except one. There are two contenders here - one that I hated at the time, but grew to like as I got older; and the one I've always hated and never owned.
If you don't know all these songs, please listen to them first, before voting for the one that you do know, but think is "uncool".

Am I the only one that thinks there's a verse missing in "Angelo"? I mean, the lovers go straight from falling in love with the disapproval of their elders to suicide within 90 seconds. There should surely have been a bit more of a build-up, maybe Angelo striking his future father-in-law or something.
Anyhoo. It says a lot for the quality of 1977's disco fever that that one is in the top third of number ones for the year...

The Barron Knights turned Angelo into Anne & Joe, Greasy Joe being a motorcyclist, and they ended up riding off the end of Tower Bridge when it was raised and landing in the Thames...
If she was so rich, why not use the money to get somewhere far away instead?

Leo Sayer peaked at #2 a few times and until the mid-2000s "When I Need You" was his only #1. I can't remember whether or not he co-wrote the song but I do know Carole Bayer-Sager was a co-writer, and she also had a hit herself later in the year with "You're Moving Out Today", a song that in the US was a hit for Bette Midler. CBS's version reached NM #1. Leo Sayer may have thought that in October he under-achieved with "Thunder In My Heart" when it missed out on even the top 20 but the song wasn't forgotten and Meck rearranged it to get it to #1, with Leo also credited on it. As for me, I much preferred "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing" but didn't vote for "When I Need You". The Barron Knights also did a play on YMMFLD, with less good effect in my opinion than the one they did on Angelo. Their effort on Float On wasn't particularly good either.
You're restricted in what I might have voted for but anyone still care to guess?
Kind of surprised by the way that "Don't Give Up On Us" didn't pick up any votes but Silver Lady was a great song and deserved to get no votes.
