Which of these songs in the year 1976 in your view should not have been #1, I am doing polls for the whole Seventies this time, once we have 10 winners (we have to split up some years there is not enough options on a poll to match the #1's in a year plus joint winners) we will have a last poll to decide which song out of the years 1970-1979 should not have been #1.
These are 3 day polls this time.
Happy Voting

Don't you lot even dare to think of voting for the Wurzels!
For someone who was 11 years old at the time that was a fun song, with a lot of appeal. Which is more than I can say for the one it replaced, which has no appeal whatsoever to an 11-year old nor has it grown on me at any time since then.
Demis Roussos would have been my 2nd choice: for those who don't know it and want to make it a fair vote, the lead track was called Forever And Ever so I would suggest you try listening to that one. Whether or not you can bear to do so to the end is up to you.

The wurzels is not the worst one there, for that there in no charge.

There are three terrible songs in this list, of which the Wurzels is not one of them.
The track I voted for featured an uncredited vocal from Vicki Brown (wife of Joe Brown & mother of Sam Brown).

I will be nice to the late Vicki Brown, who sadly died at the age of 49, the same age Carol is now. She also did backing vocals on far better songs, some by Elton John and George Harrison. Among the Elton John ones was Part Time Love, one of my favourite songs of his.

If you used the US charts I think "Disco Duck" by Rick Dees would be the overall winner…

Three terrible songs there, for sure. JJ Barrie PROBABLY the worst of em.... but the one that ends "but you're only three" can't be far behind....

The worst song on this list, by a long long way, is also probably the least well known. Hence, I fear it won't win, and something quite likeable, albeit past its sell-by date, might take the wooden spoon.

That track has a serious shout at being the very worst single ever released. Not counting Westlife singles, of course.

Well that's a big relief. I feared not enough people would know it, and opt for more familiar victims such as the Wurzels, Johnny Mathis or Demis Roussos.

Obvious winner - but Johnny Mathis was pants too.
