Which of these songs in the year 1973 in your view should not have been #1, I am doing polls for the whole Seventies this time, once we have 10 winners (we have to split up some years there is not enough options on a poll to match the #1's in a year plus joint winners) we will have a last poll to decide which song out of the years 1970-1979 should not have been #1.
These are 3 day polls this time.
Happy Voting

Voted for the act off of Opportunity Knocks that denied my all time favourite song from making #1 (3weeks at #3) (curse you Hughie Green "and I mean that most sincerely"); the other song is by an act whom if treated like an sporting athlete who took illegal substances; or a crook who made money by illegal activities then they would have their rewards (in this case their chart positions) taken away from them.

I voted the same , am guessing you are referring to LOM by DB.

Logically, surely it kept it off number 2? Very strong year again for number ones. One cheesy one, one travesty and otherwise all pretty decent at least.

The 70's for me is one of the most dire decades in music, and can count on the fingers of one hand the number of acts from that era I liked. So if it was most disliked, it would have been difficult, as I dislike a lot of those a lot.
Anyway, its should not have, so voted.

The Gary Glitter haters will have a decision to make in future!
No respect for him but can't say he made bad records.

Welcome Home was rather dire as were both Donny Osmond songs. Gary Glitter's songs were much better than any of those.

So Gary Glitter "I'm the Leader of the Gang (I Am!)" goes through to the decade final.

Definitely a case of people voting for the artist not the song

Leader of The Gang is the only Garry Glitter song I've ever heard. I don't like it,but I voted for a song that's a million times worse - 'Merry Christmas Everybody',by Slade. That song wrecks my head.

Oh for Cliff's sake. Can't we ban people voting for Glitter just because of who he is?
And WHO voted for 10cc? A great Beach Boys pastiche with a sense of humour lacking in music today.
