Which of these songs in the year 1988 in your view should not have been #1, I am doing polls for the whole Eighties this time, once we have 10 winners (we have to split up some years there is not enough options on a poll to match the #1's in a year plus joint winners) we will have a last poll to decide which song out of the years 1980-1989 should not have been #1.
These are 3 day polls this time.
Happy Voting

Not sure if my choice will be "popular" either.

How do you know anyone voted for it? I used to know Mark Moore's half-brother.

I didn't know that being admin would give you the ability to see the results in hidden polls.

Why are you amazed it got to #1? That's like saying you're surprised all those ballads got to #1 in the early 50s. That sort of music was popular at the time and reached #1.
It wasn't a bad song anyway. Written by the big songwriting team of Gerry Goffin & Michael Masser and had Yazz not pipped Kylie to #1 (and it was close that week) Gerry Goffin would have co-written two consecutive #1s as he also co-wrote The Locomotion (with Carole King). George Benson had recorded it previously.
I do know that Salt N Pepa was the one most people had expected to reach #1 wit Push It, and that ended up stuck at #2.
