Which of these songs in the year 1962 in your view should not have been #1, I am doing polls for the whole Sixties this time, once we have 10 winners (we have to split up some years there is not enough options on a poll to match the #1's in a year plus joint winners) we will have a last poll to decide which song out of the years 1960-1969 should not have been #1.
These are 3 day polls this time.
Happy Voting

Three of the greatest instrumental tracks all reaching number one this year. Plus an absolute classic from Ray Charles and the most Cockney number one ever.
The rest...oh dear.

There are three terrible #1s in that list, I've voted for one of them.

For me the worst 4 #1s in 1962 and 1963 were all by the same artist.

Oh no, that's a minor classic in its way. The Wendy Richard vocal came about by accident, Joe Meek when recording it said "you know, whenever you sing that chorus, Mike, I can hear a girl replying to you, let's put that on record" and they dragged in a then-unknown actress to provide it. And it's a great trivia question about the first EastEnder to have a number one single. Nick Berry can spin on it.
Surely, SURELY it has to be a Frank Ifield.
And who voted for Nut Rocker? It's fantastic, upbeat and stompy. God know what they'd think of Hoots Mon.

We'll find out if Hoots Mon gets any votes when we get to 1958.
I voted for Frank Ifield in both 1962 and 1963.

Somebody obviously doesn't like instrumentals.
Mike Sarne and Wendy Richards did NOT deserve to win this.

I guess it being a novelty record attracted the votes of so many

I voted for Come Outside. It's simply not funny.

I voted for Come Outside. It's simply not funny. Agreed. It's that very postwar, pre satire (Goons, TWTWTW, Monty Python) humour that has dated horribly.

I don't mind Come Outside.
I voted for one of the Elvis numbers.
