NME review Wild Man: “her strongest single for decades” www.nme.com/reviews/kate-bush/12361Priya Elan writes: “For those of us who have been secretly longing for a return to the unflinchingly bizarre and Bush’s ability to conjure up strange new worlds, ‘Wild Man’ is a deep joy.” ---------------------------------------------------------------------- As speculated, from the musical and lyrical matter this track is about the Abominable Snowman or Yeti that is rumoured to roam the Himalayas & Siberia. As a huge David Bowie fan the unexpected bonkers chorus is an absolute joy. Sure beats any of the 1631 generic singles released this year about having a good night out dancing in 'da club, that's for certain.

Well seems I'm going to be the lone dissenter but I listened to the whole album yesterday and was bored stiff. Just her singing over piano. Boring. Wild Man's not bad though. Still some on DS say it needs several listens. Won't be buying it and regretted buying Aerial too. Prefer her older stuff.

Currently this album with all the newspaper/music journal reviews has a Metacritic rating of 93. The lowest so far has been 4 Stars / 80%. That makes it the highest rated new studio album release of 2011. We are talking Radiohead at their very best (OK Computer/Kid A) territory.

We are talking Radiohead at their very best (OK Computer/Kid A) territory. It's not as bad as Radiohead (who I think are absolutely awful) but I did find the album to be exceptionally hard work, and I loved Aerial from first listen. The first three tracks on the new one couldn't end quickly enough for me, and thankfully then we get 3 brilliant tracks (love the title track with Stephen Fry) before another dull one at the end.

It certainly takes a number of listens to get into but it is a real masterpiece i think. Yes her older stuff was more commerical but i dont think she needs to worry about how much she is selling these days
