He deserves his own thread best UK singer/songwriter I've heard in ages... probably since David Gray back in the day!!! His debut album, Every Kingdom, is really really good!!! I do recommend the Deluxe version, which happens to have some amazing stuff, including Bones, the highlight of the album imho. He's endorsed by Radio 1, so gots lots of airplay and released many singles but not sure if he's picked up the right singles, so some jewels like Black Flies, Promise or Bones might go unnoticed... I personally think he should re-release Keep Your Head Up, which was released before the album but when he was far less known... Bunch of great videos... Keep Your Head Up Black Flies Only Love Bones Promise Move Like You Want To

'Every Kingdom' was my favourite album of last year, absolutely perfect, refuses to get old or boring.

Dont get how people like this sort of stuff. Its so dull and boring I always switch the radio when one of his songs comes on. Most male singer/songwriters sound exactly the same and I swear its pot luck as to who gets big and who doesnt.

Is he ambidextrous? Some of those stills have him holding the guitar left-handed and one of them has it right-handed?

^and do you really have to come to this thread to post that!!! sure Justin Bieber is more fun to listen to why are you in this thread again? Sorry for having a different opinion to you. Surely this is a forum where we can all have a view on whatever is posted. I can ask why you felt the need to start a thread on him. Apparently I saw him live last year supporting Noah & The Whale but I found him so dull I didnt even remember until the gf told me a few weeks ago.

Picked up a copy of the album last week. It impressed me when I first heard it last year, and it sounds just as great now.

^I disagree but delete the thread if you want
looks like Ben Howard made quite an impression with his cover of Call me Maybe...

I do disagree, cannot see why 2 guys and a guitar means rock, but 1 guy and 1 guitar is not rock!!
then you should move all threads about Gotye or Richard Hawley too... and not to mention Coldplay!

Im with borneoman on this one. He is an indie singer/songwriter.

i would class him as an artist who could fit in either 'music' or 'indie/rock' - no-one ever said that being a guy with a guitar automatically makes you indie or rock - but to be honest, i'm not sure it really matters. once the thread is started it should stay where it is unless there's a very strong argument for moving it. it's not like he's james blunt or anything.

He's far more Damien Rice than James Morrison and I'd imagine the former would be put in here, though maybe wrong... He is fantastic, I don't even like this type of stuff usually, I usually find male singer/songwriters really drab and boring apart from the odd song but 'Every Kingdom' is perfect from start to finish, the intro of 'Old Pine' is wonderful.

actually I just remember a similar argument... a while ago I started a thread in this section about David Gray, and that got moved to pop, which imho is wrong PS and Damien is still cool you haters
