^ Oh I thought your post was going to be confirmation of the rumoured new assistant (which if true, is a great choice IMHO). Surprised no post on this today. As heavily rumoured "the chase" for this information to be revealed is over: So hello to the new companions: Yasmin - Mandip Gill Ryan - Tosin Cole Graham - Bradley Walsh Apparently one old character from Nu Who will feature prominently in the Autumn 2018 series of ten episodes lasting 50 minutes long (bar one which will last an hour), but that has yet to be revealed ....

Now that Bradley Walsh has been confirmed, I think it is only right and proper that Chris Chibnall gets Alexander Armstrong to play a baddie.
After all his former comedy partner Ben Miller played the Sheriff of Nottingham in a recent Nu Who episode. (Yes I know The Pointless host was the voice of the computer Mr Smith in the 2008 two parter "The Stolen Earth" / "Journey's End").
After all he already has a ready made catchphrase:

Bradley Walsh is terrific casting. If he is half as good as he was in the British movie Mike Bassett: Football Manager then he'll be great.

My brother knows the film director Colm McCarthy through World of Warhammer tournaments. McCarthy worked on the Doctor Who story The Bells of Saint John and he reckons the scripts went crap because the writer had an affair and it when it came out the quality dropped. McCarthy is currently working on a new Apocalyptic series for Sky Atlantic. They purchased a shell of a ferrari to blow up. www.imdb.com/name/nm1142073/When the affair came out? I'm assuming this didn't come out in the public eye since that's the first I've ever heard of it. The man directed one episode of the show before moving onto other things - would he really have such delicate info?

Here's Tom Baker being interviewed on ITV News 24/11/17 about the new Shada release. Only they used the wrong animation instead of the new version they used Ian Levine's fan-made version. Oops!

Surprised that no one has commented on Capaldi's final episode.
I watched it tonight and thought it was a good episode without being a classic by any means. It was neat to see the interplay with "the first doctor" though he didn't contribute much to solving the riddle of what was going on. Nice to see Clara one more time and for the Doctor to regain his memory of her.
The regeneration was, of course, rather sad. I liked Capaldi in the role and it's sad to see him go. Now we face a brave new world with the new Doctor whenever the next season actually airs.
