Missed the first week of the Paras but don't really have overmuch interest in them anyway - and by the number of posts in this thread a lot of others feel the same way.
SPOTY is getting interesting. You'd have to think Ellie Simmonds (although "only" winning a bronze in her third event may have somewhat (maybe unfairly) changed overall perception of her performance) and David Weir would make the final ten.
It's the final list which is going to be fascinating and because of how it is compiled could produce a few surprises as split votes could let someone unexpected through.

After the BBC managed a podium a few years back without a wheelchair ramp, leaving 3rd place Tanni Grey-Thompson stranded at its base, I half-expect this year the podium to have a three feet high step...

Several Paralympians are moving up the betting now. Ellie Simmonds is now down to 25/1, and 16/1 with some bookies. David Weir is a best price 80/1, which puts him ahead of Ben Ainslie. Sarah Storey and Sophie Christiansen are 100/1.

Fantastic to see Alex Zanardi win hand-cycling gold today. The man is a true inspiration.

With not being so conversant about these how well is GB doing.
I know they were hoping to finish 2nd behind China in the table with over 100 medals and look as if they might achieve this number but although we have many more medals than Russia they are ahead of us because they have won more Gold.
Does this mean that we are missing out on some Gold medals that we expected to get?

Awesome stuff. Possibly the greatest (and arguably most important) night in Paralympics history.

Not posted in here but have been watching it. Some of the stuff is really inspiring to watch and I'm loving watching The Last Leg every night. David Weir and Alex Zanardi have been my favourite moments so far, though I'm really looking forward to the 400m with Pistorius tonight. I do hope that stories like these will have been commonplace throughout the country, such a great read: www.mirror.co.uk/news/real-life-stories/everton-captain-phil-neville-daughter-1311975

Pistorius's first gold of these games, or his first olympic gold ever?. What a race that was though!!.

It was his first individual gold of the games, he'd already won in the 4x100m relay, his 6th gold overall.

It was rather amusing to hear Clare Balding using horse racing terminology to describe an athletics event: "We don't know if Oliveira stays 400m."
