www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/news/a450117/brit-awards-2013-nominations-in-full.htmllooks like everything´s set up for Emeli Sande to win it all hope thats not the case and she gets pipped by Alt J. Some surprising nominations like the one for Amy W (nice but unnecessary) or some of the albums nominated (Babel or Fall to Grace are very mediocre albums, sure they´ve been nominated by hype rather than merit) Also some joke nominations like Rita Ora as best newcomer (really?) or Olly as best male. I personally hope Alt J surprises and wins it all. Cr@p, cr@p, cr@p. Sorry it's not a constructive critical analysis, but I'm just bored of all these awards especially this one. Haven't watched it since 2005 and that's because I was bored, although I caught snippets of that year where the Arctic Monkey's were dressed up as huntsmen, which I found pathetic. Thankfully many people are over them, including myself. It's hard to believe now that the media once worshipped them as if they were gods or a new religious movement.

in perspective, the weirdest category has to be Best UK Female... no disrespect but how come they included Amy Winehouse but ignored other UK ladies like for instance Ellie Goulding!!! or Amy McDonald or even Leona or even Marina...

Has the Outstanding Achievement to British Music Award been replaced to BRITs Global Success Award, as there is no news announced for the Achievement Award, which is usually announced a month early or so.

The noms have always been a bit weird in who they miss out and I put it entirely down to which record company you are with and how much money they put into the awards or who they want to market more. Even after having good years, bands like Goldfrapp and Maroon 5 have been "overlooked" - more likely their names didn't fit with the marketing strategy of their labels' other acts at the time. Main reason I don't pay much attention to any awards now - they are never really about merit, just money.

Yeah, they announced a few years ago they weren't going to do the Outstanding Contribution every year, presumably because they were getting a bit short of people to give it to. At least, if you give that award out every year you're handing them out faster than there are outstanding contributions. In 2011 they didn't do one and they ended up without much of a finale.

Do we know who´s performing? sure there´s gonna be Emeli Sande... anyone else confirmed? in an ideal world they would bring Frank Ocean to perform Pyramids and that would send the song to #1 EDIT: just read Ben Howard is performing!!!!! not 100% sure if true...
