it might be a good way of livening up the reviews forum, thinking about it...

Or it could die on it's arse as it gets no passing traffic?

Wherever we put it, it would seem a good idea to promote it elsewhere to try and get as many members as possible involved.

might be worth moving them to the review section after each album has been reviewed if that is possible then when people come across them in 3-6 month time they can comment on them aswel as they will all be together and easily accesable. im not sure it gets enough traffic to run it on there

good list. it also should be noted that the list so far is overwhelmingly rock/indie-heavy as well as being male-dominated... now as that's in line with my tastes it doesn't bother me, but it would be good to have some more pop classics - some of which could be found from shireblogger's female-only list. To some extent that's because the album was for a long time the sole province of rock, in one of its forms. Kate Bush was I think the first female soloist to have a number 1 hit, and until about 1969 hardly anyone outside the Beatles/Stones made memorable albums as coherent units, rather than just songs thrown together to fill a gap. Think of classic Motown singles from the sixties; now try to think of classic Motown albums... I would suggest Phil Spector's A Christmas Gift For You, though, as a classic. It's as much a single artist album as Reload.

Robbie Williams, Take That, Pet Shop Boys, Whitney Houston, any of their albums that should be on there, have we got Elton John as well? Kate Bush? Any other Madonna? I do agree with moving the reviews into the review forum when we are finished, and I will advertise this thread in music and see if it generates any other suggestions, or people who want to review?

At the risk of sounding like a right old grump, but can we just get on with it now ?
The list of suggestions is long enough to keep us going for the next 10 years, so, rather than seeking even more ideas, perhaps Andy could make his choice, and start the 1st classic album review thread ?

Shall I pin this thread and the separate album review thread? I'm also going to cut and move comments in this thread to that thread, as can move the chat over there now. Oh and I assume anyone can start the reviews, comments ball rolling, it doesn't have to be the reviewer? Can we score/rate the albums out of 10 as well, then we can have an average score for each album, and see if we can find a Fave from the list.

yeah my plan is to initially score each track out of 10 and post the average for the whole album aswel as a summery of each track/or stand out tracks, maybe a bit about the tracks I already knew/love. then we can rank them to find out havens top 10 favourite albums, which would be pretty cool

Daz, you are up next. Tomorrow, announce your chosen album in a new thread, and I'll add it to the first post in this one, you can post in here what it is, for continuity
