I don't think the above are really forgotten hits, most people are generally aware of Mambo Number 5 and Macarena...

Before Despacito there was this from Gloria Estefan. She is still going and this is fairly pleasant in a summery way.

Krush - House Arrest. Not a million miles off what Duke Dumont et al are recreating now. Amazing track.

Great funky beats, smooth vocals and quite summery. Banderas 'This Is Your Life' Just discovered this thread. Loved the Banderas song in the 90s after seeing it on the ITV Chart show and remember listening to the Top 40 countdown the following day convinced it had entered (much much later I discovered it had just missed out that week after a climb of almost 30 places I think so I like to think that that Chart show appearance did have some effect). A few years later I taped it off the radio when Capital FM played it.

Inoffensive pop from Let Loose. 'Seventeen' Really liked this at the time. These days I think I actually prefer it to 'Crazy For You'. Brings back more specific memories.
Also, obviously the Banderas song above did eventually go on to be a Top 20 hit.

I hate the fact that there's a number of people who are only going to associate Kirsty MacColl with THAT Pogues collaboration, when she did so much more. I don't think I hear this one enough, and it surprised me to learn that Johnny Marr co-wrote this and wrote the tune just after he left the Smiths, and the album it's from "Electric Landlady" he came up with that title, because Johnny was staying in a house that was owned by Kirsty and thought it was a nice play on the title of Jimi Hendrix's "Electric Ladyland" album.

Dr John covered by Brown Sugar. What could go wrong? Well, a wardrobe malfunction, perhaps?

One of the many British hits - the LA standing for Les "Mixdoctor" Adams - following in the wake of M/A/R/R/S, and casting a slight aspersion on those who rely on the same samples over and over again.
Recognize the actress in the video?

My Retro Rewind chart in the year of 1981, the year of the Stars On 45 medley craze 8 years before the horrific Jive Bunny .... Of course some acts decided to get on the bandwagon with a click track beat such as ....
This 1960s Manchester group with Graham Nash returning to the band after 13 years away ....

Alternatively, they'd take the P out of it albeit in a having a cake, make a cheapo video, and eating it sort of way, in a stick it on your latest single as the B-side, yet it is the b-side which radio was playing and punters were buying the "Labelled With Love" UK #4 single for way ....

But the most bizarre is this sound and lookalike group (by members of what became the UK jazz funksters Shakatak) of a much loved on Haven Forum New York new wave act fronted by someone who went on to co-write "C'Est La Vie"; "Rollercoaster"; & "Blame It On The Weatherman" for B*Witched.

This Year's Blonde had hit the top 20 as Enigma, with their late seventies disco medley "Ain't No Stopping". But it never featured on TOTP. Which made me wonder whether the continual playing of TYB was to make up for an unfair omission.
Amazingly enough, for such an obvious one-hit wonder, This Year's Blonde did have a second charting single.

There seems to be a general assumption that "Respectable' by Mel & Kim was some sort of creative high point for Stock Aitken Waterman. I can only assume that those people do not remember Kim Appleby's self-co-penned debut solo hit.
Which shows what a talent was hidden behind the SAWmill drek.
