I downloaded this one over the weekend. It was sort of topical.

Well, "The Face" was rather more straightforward, and a much bigger hit (helped by the January lull in sales, though). But I think "Restless Days" is a better song. But still only a 3 out of 5 from me, really. A quick discussion with several people today suggests this, from 1995, has not been widely remembered (unrepresentative sample of people, perhaps), but I think it's rather moving, and touching. And Mike and the Mechanics are not a band I would generally spend a great deal of time listening to.... great song... mike & the mechanics are a guilty pleasure of mine. 'over my shoulder' was a great song.

Universal's 'Rock Me Good'...it's like 'Mysterious Girl' meets 'Coco Jamboo'

Pretty funky and cool, this still sounds fresh 'Policeman Skank' by Audioweb

Solo effort from Neil Finn, 'She Will Have Her Way' is relaxing enough without sending you totally to sleep

Early nineties dance from The Grid. 'Crystal Clear' lacks memorable hooks but is good background music

Zoe's 'Lightning'. An absolutely awful flat, off key, shouty live performance.

Not as big as 'Baby Baby' but infectious enough. Amy Grant dresses as a dalmatian and dances against some ghastly wallpaper in 'Every Heartbeat'

File under 'Wendy Moten esque'. Puff Johnson's satisfyingly non classic 'Over And Over'

Shot with so much soft lighting, her face looks like like a cloud. Donna Lewis' 'Without Love'. Beats are nice, song is boring.

I quite like Zoe's "Lightning"...when it's performed properly: and as for the Grid, two of their earlier singles (neither of which were big hits), "Floatation" and "A Beat Called Love"...are very fine.
I prefer "Every Heartbeat" to "Baby Baby", but Amy Grant has done better than either.

This came up on my MP3 player earlier, I realised that even though it peaked at 2 (in early 2000) nobody ever seems to mention it now.

8 of the ten most-played tracks by this singer on Last.FM aren't really by her, they're spelling mistakes.

Skip about a minute in to hear some screeching. Digital Orgasm's painfully raucous 'Running Out Of Time'

Proving that a bowl and kitchen scissors will just never do. The Frank and Walters sing 'After All' with just a whiff of James' 'Sit Down'
