Oh, and Ola and Aliona. I heard Aliona was leaving so it's good to see her back. Aliona would have left had Nathalie Lowe not got injured. The fact she was able to step in suggests that Strictly kept her on as reserve as it doesn't seem as though she decided to leave of her own accord like Flavia, Vincent (and I think Erin too). Her lack of comments to her departure were noticeable. Katya is still missed though

Anyway, watch it and enjoy it then? Only Tony Jacklin struggled really, some of them were a revelation, and Susannah's jive, blew me away!

So what did everyone think of last night then?
It may go downhill tonight, but for week 1 the standard was surprisingly good. Early days but Nathalie and Susanna look contenders to win. Which isn't a surprise as Susanna did the Christmas show (and won?) so has that advantage like I thought Harry from McFly did when he won it. Nathalie also did dancing up until 10 years ago but injuries prevented her from carrying it on.
Edit - looks like Andy beat me to it!

Susanna wasn't on the Christmas Strictly, she did appear on a Children In Need special with 3 other newsreaders (plus a special appearance from Angela Rippon)

Given those comments, the Strictly bosses should consider themselves fortunate that she didn't just turn them down when they needed her to return. It will be interesting to see if they ditch her for a 2nd time next year, and also whether Nathalie definitely comes back, as Aliona's injury keeping her out of the last series presumably gave Strictly reason to axe her initially. I completely forgot about that Children In Need special! Thought that Susanna had won a Strictly special somewhere! Didn't they ask Sian Williams to appear on a series and she turned it down?

A great winner, I really thought Natalie was going to walk it in the end. Sophie was the obvious weaker contestant out of the 4 girls thought, I just knew she was going.
