The number 2's from 1982
Please rate the following out of 10. If you don't know a song, please look it up on Youtube before voting.
I'll tot the scores up at the end to see which is Havens favourite #2 of 1982. I'll probably leave it open until the New Year, to make sure we get everyone's votes.
n.b. Where the single is listed as a double A side, I have gone for the "lead" of the two.

I'm really not sure which was the lead track on the Shakin Stevens e.p., I will be guided by someones better judgement, and can edit as appropriate.

Didn't mean to sound so aggressive on that challenge. Sorry. Not a problem ShireB, it wasn't aggressive, I put it out there that I wasn't sure anyway, so am happy that you could help direct me to the correct one on the e.p. But now you say, it was obvious which one it should have been.

And number 10 shouldn't be in the top 1,000,000,000,000 songs of the 5th June 1982.

I don't think it really gets much better than this year.... The top 5 for the 5th June is the best top 5 ever. Can't argue with that, actually. Another of my favourite pop music writers, Marcello Carlin, makes the claim that the previous week's top 40 (May 29th 1982) is the best ever. With just 2 new entries on 5th June: Bow Wow Wow "I Want Candy"; Diana Ross "Work That Body", replacing Pigbag "Papa's Got A Brand New Pigbag", Monsoon "Ever So Lonely", I think the previous week wins. Although the 5th June top 5 is undoubtedly the better of the two. Such golden days...

Yes a lot of 10 votes but then there were a lot of brilliant songs back then.
Although Shaky obviously modelled himself on Elvis, as far as I am aware this is the only Elvis cover he ever released.
