Top 256. I'm a computer scientist...
22 to start:
256 I Just Want To Thank You - Tim Myers 255 Blame The Sun - Argyle 254 Clear Your Browser History - Jarinus 253 Cats & Netflix - Doubleclicks 252 Some People Just Don't Know When To Quit - Penny Black Remedy 251 Silver Lining - Hilary Grist 250 Said You'd Call Me - Apers 249 Papapa - My Darling - Grannies Club 248 Mr. TV - Nomataras 247 Lost in the Music - Smiley Mikey 246 Brother You Must Walk Your Path Alone - Electric Soft Parade *245 The Internationals - Terraces 244 Half Past Ten - Nikki 243 Give It To Someone - Lucky Face 242 Oh The Places We Will Go - Postcards 241 Rolling Stone - Pete Macleod 240 Satans Ice Cream Van - Surfin' Wombatz *239 Other Side - Keaton Simons 238 Crushed Like The Car - Army Navy *237 Just Be - Paloma Faith 236 Human Race - Virgin Soldiers 235 No No Song - Jaya The Cat
* means it was in the last chart of 2012 and I show the position if its points from 2012 are added in. If it finished significantly well that year I also show its 2012 position. I do not update 2012 positions for big hits that year that managed one or two extra weeks in 2013.
Terraces - The Internationals finished #834 of 2012. Adding in its points moves it to #131 in 2013.
Keaton Simons - Other Side peaked at #3 in 2012, and finished at #42 of the year. Adding its points together it would be #26 in 2013 and #21 in 2012.
Paloma Faith - Just Be spent one week in the chart in 2012 and would move to #206 with that added in.

I know 8 of this bunch but most of them underachieved, biggest hit in this bunch for me was Eels I think but it was one of their lowest charting songs in my chart only reached #30. Almost shocked I missed a comeback song by Poison turns out its a different band, YouTube calls them The Poison for obvious legal reasons.

They are called The Poison, I always cut the "The" off the front (other than The The). I mentioned it at the time they were in the chart.
213 Send Me A Sign - Jinxes 212 Dream Of Mine - Pacific 211 Let Me Go - Haim 210 London's Exciting - Jimmy Nobrot And The Squits 209 Here's To Never Growing Up - Dave Days 208 Army of Two - Olly Murs 207 Thursday - Pet Shop Boys ft Example 206 Last Night (Beer Fear) - Lucy Spraggan 205 What It Is - Loudermilks 204 What A Shame - Strypes 203 Say You Love Me - Attic Lights 202 Boom Boom - From The Sticks 201 Laurie Blue - Brian Flanagan 200 Jessica 6 - Girl One And The Grease Guns 199 Sick Of You - Hillmans 198 Sadman - Someone's Diary 197 Chasing Stars - Schucks Road 196 What About You - Jezzpi 195 Louise - Cud 194 Dream Man - Virginia Labuat
The return of Cud in there. Dave Days' song is a cover of Avril Lavigne with some changed lyrics. They've done a few original songs as well as covers, and there are a few bands out there like that. They also covered Taylor Swift's "22" but I didn't chart either version. Another band who covered a Taylor Swift song fairly recently and also do some covers and some originals are Walk Off The Earth (I think that's their name). They did have a hit in my chart with their cover of Bruno Mars's "Natalie" but not with "I Knew You Were Trouble" even though their version of that song got a lot of attention.
Jezzpi were in the last chart of 2013 but are not in the first chart of 2014, one of 14 singles to drop out this week. Their song peaked at #12.

Dave Days was in the first chart of 2013 but not the last of 2012 being one of the new entries.
Hi Ho Mustachio would be #116 adding in the two weeks from 2014.

Get real music back into the charts should work still, but I haven't posted many new songs on there recently.
The link to my spotify chart of the year is:

Next 15:
123 Never Saw Her Leave - Mellor 122 What Doesn't Kill You - Jake Bugg 121 Story Of My Life - One Direction 120 Seven Nights Seven Days - Fratellis 119 Hell Or High Water - Nessmans **118 One More Sleep - Leona Lewis 117 Slumville Sunrise - Jake Bugg 116 Deep Down - McMahon 115 Between Two Rivers - Ultrasound 114 The Little Things - Seven Inches **113 America - K Republic 112 Start The Revolution - Rifffs 111 Sunshine - Court Yard Hounds 110 Purely Automatic - Brendan Benson 109 Tomorrow - Gianluca Bezzina
** At the end of 2013 Leona Lewis was at #3 but being a Christmas song it fell pretty fast in the first two weeks of 2014. Still with those two weeks added in it moves up to #70, and it may yet spend a 3rd week in the chart in 2014.
** K Republic - America peaked at #7, was #47 on the last chart of 2013 and #77 on the first of 2014 then dropped out. That extra week pushes it up a bit but still not into the top 100: #105.

well that bunch had 2 X-Factor artists in it, one Eurovision song, two Jake Bugg songs who is one of the few decent artists to have got some promotion in the last couple of years, veteran acts now Ultrasound and Fratellis plus you're possibly familiar with Brendan Benson.
Mellor had a #1 in my chart in 2012 but I don't think you'd be familiar with them.
My guess is that you would know Leona, One Direction, Jake Bugg (both songs), Ultrasound, Fratellis, and Brendan Benson and you'd forgotten Gianluca Bezzina or just never watched Eurovision.

108 The Moon and the Stars - John Mark Nelson 107 Winter Beard - Pop Ups 106 One Of These Kids - Flying Peaches 105 She's My Little Baby - Diddums 104 Fuzzed Up - Anydays 103 Happy Tuesday - Touchy Feelies 102 Free Radical Radio Fever - Mischief Brew 101 Call Your Friends - Zebrahead 100 Queen Of The Dagger - Baboon Show 99 Back To Disneyland - Scarlett's Roses 98 Run Rabbit - Bear & The Woods 97 Blue Collar Jane - Strypes 96 That Girl That Scene - Frankie & The Heartstrings **95 Beggars Can't Be Choosers - David Woodcock
One more week for David Woodcock in 2014 at #91 propels him to 87th.
Although I'm now inside the top 100 I'm not posting videos yet. Blue Collar Jane entered my chart inside the top 10 and was expected at the time to perform better than it did. David Woodcock also entered as the highest new entry of his week above the Texas and Gary Barlow songs that later did better. So much for bigger names tending to enter higher.

**94 Wonderful - Janet Devlin *93 Sex Dance and Rock & Roll - Ian Erix 92 We Need Elvis Back - Katmen 91 Randy's Getting Married - Dan Vapid & The Cheats *90 The Boys Are Back / The Season's Upon Us - Dropkick Murphys 89 Vintage Dress - Argonaut 88 Go Gay For Gandalf - Cinema Sins 87 Love Is All I Can Hear - Music Go Music 86 Smartphone - Bayonets 85 Live Your Life in the Sun - Dirty Reds 84 Take Time - Last Minute Glory **83 The Christmas Song - Boy Who Kicked Pigs ft Darren Bray 82 I Love It - Icona Pop ft. Charli XCX
I'll fill in the detail later about the 4 that crossed over years. I have 3 charts of 2014 now to work with.
** Wonderful by Janet Devlin: #63 with first 3 weeks of 2014 added in
* Ian Erix: Can't find in 2012 so must have entered the chart on first week of 2013.
* Dropkick Murphys: 2 weeks in 2012, both at #1. Yes we changed the song but we still combine: #25 in 2012 and #26 in 2013. A low position for a #1 and although I did change the song it still has the "It was a Christmas song" excuse, as the lead track was clearly the one that got it to #1. Still in the regular positions for #2 hits.
which of course leads to:
** The Boy Who Kicked Pigs: in 2013 3 weeks in the chart, 16-2-2 then after Christmas fell to 5-16-43, and this time there was no other song to switch over to. In any case it rises to 44th which is close to a #3 hit from 2013, which show that the short run of Christmas songs drops them to the equivalent of a song that peaks one place lower.

81 Tired To Get Fired - Bigmoneymakers 80 Kelly's Gone Insane - Duncan Reid 79 Big Fat Blackberries - Flipron 78 First Amendment Blues (The F.U. Song) - Cold Beer & Broads 77 I Got The Answer - Magic Theatre **76 Dry Your Eyes - Texas 75 Karma Is A Bitch - Sonic Boom Six 74 Straight Out Of Art School - Thee Spivs 73 Not My Time To Go - Shades Of Nowhere 72 Come On Baby Let's Do The Cringe - Chewing On Tinfoil 71 What's On Your Mind - Emma-Lee & Peter Katz 70 Illusions - Shout Out Louds
** Dry Your Eyes moves to #69 with 2 extra weeks from 2014. Incidentally I think this may have been their biggest hit since 1997, it peaked at #5 anyway. It is obviously not a cover of the Streets.
