On Saturday Paul Gambaccini counts the charts from 1984 and 2006 The last and only time POTP went to the 00s was 2001 a few years ago. Good to see they're doing more later years. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0997lbb

Surely that core 35-54 demographic are the people most likely to be listening to Radio 2, and therefore the second hour is likely to see listenership go up. I listen every week, it's the only thing on music radio I regularly tune into. I like the odd week of really early stuff, but it's roughly the 86 - 98 charts that I enjoy the most. It's all about nostalgia.
