Looking at the list of songs without looking at the voting:
Leo Sayer and Billy Preston & Syreeta. I don't expect much love for either of these two and they'll be battling out for bototm place.
Ottawan. Bit of fun, very silly but has a lot more appeal than either of the above two.
Paul McCartney / Stevie Wonder. Not normally much love for these two on here. I recall Happy Birthday didn't do that well although it got a 10 from me. I think these two will not to that badly but they won't be front runners either.
Status Quo: In the lower half but safely above the bottom two.
Randy Crawford. I do like her, this isn't her best song but I hope she'll at least be midtable.
Whispers, Liquid Gold, Lipps Inc. Will all be top half and potentially among the leaders.
Hot Chocolate: I have no idea how this will do but might do ok.
Diana Ross: My predication to win.

Second appearance for Diana Ross in the 80's rates.
Number 2's now finished, so new set of rates up shortly.
Many thanks for participating.

Well this list certainly looks upside down to me. I must be in the minority who thinks that the Chic organisation should have stuck with Sister Sledge plus their own band. Quo scored much lower than the record actually merits. Maybe their continued existence, as one of the uncoolest bands on the planet, works against them. Thanks, as always, Smurfie.

Ottowan did well to come 5th. Quo should have been a lot higher.
Not going to argue with a Diana Ross win but despite it being her second biggest selling UK single (according to OCC - Shireblogger disagrees) I prefer a lot of her other songs.

I predicted Diana Ross would win.
Status Quo did finish better in the 1975 number ones rate. True there were some truly dreadful number ones that year that were far worse than "Down Down". Scored 5.42 compared to 4.85 here.
Randy Crawford did a lot better than I'd predicted and Liquid Gold a lot worse.
