Yeah, I keep songs in my chart that have dropped off the Top 75, as if I still like them, I like them, as I do now with my personal chart. I just know that in the 80s I was listening to the US Top 30 countdown on a saturday afternoon? And therefore that would have influenced my personal chart if I'd done one then

I pulled in occasional songs from the US chart, sometimes more than others. I'm going to pull in "Young Love" by Air Supply. That reached only #38 in the USA but I have the album.
I'm going to give "two less lonely people" a miss though..

I suppose it's up to the individual unless Player stes any ground rules. For me a favourite song could still be in my chart a week or two after it drops off the top 75 and if I know a particular favourite which doesn't chart has been released I might include it or could chart a record a week early. I'm liking what everyone is doing right now, I wouldn't want to start imposing rules on what can chart etc as it will take the fun out of it. If you have charts from that period then it's up to you if you use those or adjust them. I only started a chart in 2004/5 so my aim is to get up to that point with a Top 20 initially which will more than likely expand to a Top 40 in the 90s. I would run a second thread for say 1992 but I wouldn't have time to do 82 and 92 every week so for now we can just carry on the way we are which seems to be working. I post the Top 75 from the relevant week as a guide but if people wish to use American charts from the time then that's cool.

Perhaps I should catch up an extra week again. Although my chart is moving at a fast pace now. It slows down in December.
It's good to see several people charting Chris De Burgh by the way. That is coming the way of my chart too very soon and will do very well. Anyone who hasn't heard that song and is wondering why so many of us are charting it, you should listen to it. It sounds nothing like The Lady In Red.

Although in the chart above I have Tears For Fears at #2, that is because I am charting "Valerie" but really they were #1 and had got there in their 2nd week in the UK top 40 the same as both ABC and Duran Duran had managed before them. However it spent a couple of weeks in the top 75 before and those here rushed to chart it. When Whitesnake appears soon with "Here I Go Again" I would suggest people should know you'll be charting this version: www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCy1Vkv_y2k
