50 Royal Blood – Come On Over 49 Kasabian – eez-eh 48 Catfish and the Bottlemen – Fallout 47 Foster The People – Coming of Age 46 Flyte – False Alarm 45 Mando Diao – Sweet Wet Dreams 44 Maximo Park – Leave This Island 43 Idlewild – Collect Yourself 42 Let's Wrestle – Rain Ruins Revolution 41 The 1975 – Settle Down
46 Flyte – False Alarm
Another band I was lucky enough to catch live last year and with another song by them still to come they are one of only a handful of bands to feature two or more tracks in the top 50
45 Mando Diao – Sweet Wet Dreams
Second single from Swedish band Mando Diao's 2014 album Aelita, not released in the UK sadly but I got the album imported and saw them in Amsterdam in November and although they have changed to a more synthpop direction, they can still bang out a cracking tune

I try and listen to most of your new entries but I didnt give Madden Brothers much of a chance , I might have if Id known they were ex-Good Charlotte. Love every other song apart from Huskies didn't grab me at the time.
Next batch is amazing, Flytes Beatles pastiche I found odd at the live show and I still struggle with embracing this song completely as its so John Lennon. Apart from Lets Wrestle the rest, expecting Mando Diao, are high on my list.

Mando Diao had a number of hits for me during the 2000s and I don't know why anyone still "restricts" their music by location. I can't see how it ever helps the artist.
I'm generally more interested in more pop-style catchy-tune rock. A lot of that seems to come from Scandinavia. It's hard to find when it doesn't have its own specific genre. I wish they wouldn't just list stuff as "pop", "Rock" and "alternative" but would be more specific.
In any case, I did manage to get that Jake Bugg song into my chart and it was one of my biggest hits of the year.

Yeah Mando Diao were big in the 00's in Europe especially, I subsequently discovered a whole host of amazing Scandinavian acts like Sugarplum Fairy (Two brothers of Mando Diao frontman), Johnossi, Moneybrother, Melody Club, The Sounds, Timo Raisanen

The problem I had with charting Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott songs other than the two I did is that they were not formal singles and did not have proper vidoes. When I looked all I found were audio versions over still picture of the album cover.
I did listen to the entire album and then in November they added more tracks to it.

TOP 20
20 Saint Raymond – I Want You
Good year for Saint Raymond, caught him live twice, once early in 2013 (his first ever gig with his band) and again last year and were brilliant both times, since then he has released a number of quality singles and an ep's, this is the pick of the bunch and he is still only 19

19 Longfellow – Kiss-Hug-Makeup
I suggest everyone checks out Longfellow's mini album "Prelude", a Indie Pop Rock band I knew nothing about until this year when I stumbled across them on a music blog, new single "Medic" out tomorrow Monday 12th January
www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROdABTBzYR0
18 Natalie Bang Bang – Shake Shake Shimmy
When I came across Natalie Chahal at the Y-Not festival in August she was using the name Bang Bang Bang, either way she brightened up a rainy day brilliant slice of 60's girl pop
www.youtube.com/watch?v=rm7pHsbP4QY
17 Royal Blood – Little Monster
I'm sure everyone interested in my cart already know about Royal Blood, a two piece from Brighton, the only question is this the highest charting song by them in my chart?
www.youtube.com/watch?v=ere2Mstl8ww
16 Catfish and the Bottlemen – Cocoon
Another band I saw in August at the Y-Not Festival, they were one of the highlights and have yet to release anything I didn't like, shout out to @thorny for getting me into them because I never knew who they were before that
www.youtube.com/watch?v=Va75GaPv5jY
15 Foo Fighters – Something From Nothing
Back to their best, Dave Grohl sure knows how to write a tune
www.youtube.com/watch?v=V_YlZ1JdcVk
14 KONGOS – Come With Me Now
Another Haven discovery, but this time it was the one and only Serge Freeman, quality track, nothing like anything else out there and a number 1 in my chart, unlucky to miss my top 10 if anything
www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gz2GVlQkn4Q
13 Teleman – Skeleton Dance
Former members of Indie band Pete & the Pirates with their highest entry in my chart, sadly yet to see them live but it's high up on my list of things to do
www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZHCTo2eCsU
12 Mando Diao – Black Saturday
Swedish indie band that obviously just discovered Jeff Lynne's Electric Light Orchestra, Brilliant song, Shame it wasn't released in the UK, one of the highlights of my time in Amsterdam when I saw them live
www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QkYjaHmsI8
11 Circa Waves – Stuck In My Teeth
Another band I saw live last year and ofcourse I discovered them through Thorney, best thing they have done so far, they were recently entered in HIT with another track so probably have a few more fans round here

UK/US seems to be mostly the same, they get added to spotify / youtube the same time. And given that lots of songs are never officially packaged as singles now I use vevo to help me find newly released videos.

5 The Struts – Put Your Money On MeOne of my favorite bands on 2014, old school glam rock, spent 8 weeks hovering around the top of my chart without hitting number one, but it is my joint 3rd most scrobbled song of 2014 with my next song and has grown on me even more since their album came out www.youtube.com/watch?v=9GuUbziASwE 4 Royal Blood – Out Of The BlackThe first song i heard by Royal Blood, entered my chart on January 12th and it was such breath of fresh air, like nothing else released for years, so for the first 3 month of the year it was my 2nd most scrobbled song and ended up being my joint 7th most scrobbled song of the year, ofcourse it is my 2nd Royal Blood track to make my top 20 and spent 2 month in my top 20 www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_3mNCaJgNM3. Catfish and the Bottlemen – KathleenMy favorite Bottlemen track, went down well live when i saw them earlier this year, spent 10 weeks in my chart and has grown on me since, they have 3 songs in my top 30 which is the most of any artist in 2014 www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrrcVxnjJO8

2 Flyte – Light Me UpCame across "We Are The Rain" in Thorney's chart, think it was their debut single, it hung around the bottom ends of my chart for a while so when they were added to the Y-Not festival bill i checked them out and they were one of the highlights, shortly after this single came out and it blew me away, joint 3rd most scrobbled song of 2014, 2 weeks at number 1 and 11 week in the top 10! www.youtube.com/watch?v=n889SfEl7mw
