It is time for Haven to select its favourite Madonna single. And that's not going to be an easy task.
Here's how it will work:-
(1) I have included every Madonna single/track that has reached the Top 100, including the 3 tracks where she shares a credit with one or more other artists.
(2) Each song only appears once, even it has charted separately in a remixed or imported version.
(3) The one official AA-side single has been split into two, in case you like one side but not the other.
(4) This gives us 71 tracks. I have numbered them from 1-71 in chronological order.
(5) If any further tracks make the Top 100 in the next 4 weeks, they will be added to the list.
(6) There will be 5 elimination rounds, each containing 14 or 15 tracks.
(7) The first elimination round contains Madonna's 1st, 6th, 11th, 16th, etc. singles. The second contains her 2nd, 7th, 12th, 17th, etc, singles, and so on.
(8) You have 4 votes per round.
(9) The 4 singles/tracks with the most votes in each round go through to the final.
(10) The singles/tracks which finish 5th and 6th in each elimination round will go through to a lucky losers semi-final. This will contain approximately 10 tracks. You will have a chance to vote on these, with another 2 going through to the final.
(11) The final will therefore contain about 22 singles/tracks. The final will be a rate, where you give each song a score between 0 and 10.
(12) In the event of tied positions, (e.g. two records finishing 4th equal), I will decide how many to put through to the final or the lucky losers semi-final.
(13) Each round will last just one week, so don't spend too long prevaricating.
(14) If you don't know some of the songs, I'm afraid you'll have top seek them out yourself. I don't have enough time to post links for everything.
Round 1 is up. Voting closes at midnight on Sunday 5th April.
And remember, this is just for fun. So don't get too personal about Madonna or her fans; and if you are a fan, don't take any comments and votes too seriously.

I think I've voted. I chose 3 tracks. I presume the big green tick means we have voted and I presume we can only see our own votes.

This has forced me to re-listen to some of Madonna's less familiar singles, and I've been pleasantly surprised a couple of times. Its tough that we're restricted to just 4 votes each, because there are 6 songs here that I really like.
