An interesting stat is that 18 out of the top 20 longest serving managers are English. The exceptions are Arsene Wenger (actually in first place and is French) and Mick McCarthy (who is Irish) McCarthy was born in Barnsley and was brought up in England. He qualified to play for Ireland through his father. On Tuesday, Gary Rowett will have been Birmingham manager for a year. That will bring the total number of league managers in place for at least a year up to 47, i.e. just over half of the 92.

Doesn't matter where he is from, he won't last until May.

And now Tim Sherwood is no longer the manager of Villa.

Doesn't matter where he is from, he won't last until May. Ipswich were floundering at the bottom of the table and going nowhere when he took over. He massively over achieved with an average team. Has had his best players sold and is still only two wins off the playoffs. Current form is an issue but bit harsh to turn on the guy after 6 bad games, obviously every fan wants their team to get in the playoff and go up but when there's 15 teams with a bigger budget it takes time to build something special, maybe they have gone backwards but that's only because he did so well to start with

I want him to stay but he needs to alter his tactics some what. We need Fraser back too. There are plenty of fans who would like to see him go.

Yeah I just saw buroc on motd. My god. Don't think I have seen a worse gk performance, it was like somwone down their lcoal park when there concentration has gone. Sure I saw howe shake his head and say "I'm dropping him". After shipping 10 in 2 games and today he made 10+ unforced errors I wouldn't be surprised

He's just completely out of form at the moment. He committed a real howler against Watford which allowed them an easy equaliser at the end of a first half Bournemouth had dominated. Eddie Howe refused to put the blame on him in his interview, but that was just a manager refusing to single out individuals for blame.

Wasn't he dropped at Celtic for a time. They've got a good number 2 in Adam federici. Unless he's injured. As said on motd they have to alter playing style for home away and opponent. But Norwich are just as bad letting as many goals.

I'd love to see Bournemouth continue to play the way they played last season. Sadly, they have to accept that it isn't always going to be possible. It will make them a lot of friends, but it could also see them go straight back down.

Really, sure they were in this situation last season as well, and sacked their manager, wonder if Paul Cox will go for it... I don't think it was a pen or red card in the Newcastle v sunderland game.

Russ Wilcox leaves York city So, for one day only, fewer than half the 92 managers have been in their job for a year or more. Utter madness.

the red card was a strange one in the Newcastle game, I think the key was colo changed direction and put excessive force into the barge, penalty was harsh considering there was a case for a penalty at the other end a minute earlier, red card was even worse as steven fletcher is a big lump and newcastle's keeper was well out to smother the danger, looked to me like he would dive on the ball before fletcher got there, even if he didn't he would be so close it would be impossible to score

With Bournemouth and Norwich looking not good enough for the division, that could be the escape factor for 2 of the 3 struggling "big" clubs.
I think that Aston Villa are the least likely of the bottom 3 to be able to pull out.

My Home team Raith suffered a defeat at Home to Falkirk yesterday. Disappointing. Now 3 losses in a row, despite being undefeated all season before these losses.
On a different team. Surely Jose no so special Mourinho has to go now after defeat to stoke last night.
