Difficult to predict. For example in 1979 you have 7 remaining and whilst you've kept both Blondie #1s and the Boomtown Rats in your top 7, you've also still got Lena Martell..

My ranking of your last remaining #1s of 1979:
1. Boomtown Rats - I Don't Like Mondays 2. Blondie - Heart Of Glass 3. Blondie - Sunday Girl 4. Buggles - Video Killed The Radio Star 5. Cliff Richard - We Don't Talk Anymore 6. Art Garfunkel - Bright Eyes 7. Lena Martell - One Day At A Time
however I doubt that is your ranking of those 7.

Which # 1 is your favourite from 1979 ? "Are Friends Electric" or "Cars"?

# 1 from 1973 is very predictable. Another 9 years are not.

I quite like the Lena Martell song to be fair, although I certainly wouldn't put it above classics like T.Rex, Queen, David Bowie, Abba or Kate Bush. But then it's all down to personal opinion at the end of the day, nobody is right or wrong in these matters.

I prefer "Are Friends Electric" to "Cars".
My favourite #1s of 1979 are: I Don't Like Mondays, Heart Of Glass, Another Brick In The Wall, Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick, Sunday Girl, Are Friends Electric, Video Killed The Radio Star, probably in that order. At the time I ranked "Sunday Girl" higher.

Aside from Fernando, all of Abba's number ones still remain.
Only one of Rod Stewart's number ones has come up too.

I mentioned that I Don't Like Mondays is my top #1 of 1979. However it took its time to get there in my chart. It was made to wait until its 4th chart week as Dave Edmunds's "Girls Talk" grabbed the top spot and wouldn't let it go until it had been on top for 3 weeks.
As case for me of "4 is better than 1". I much prefer it to "I Hear You Knocking".
Girls Talk was written by Elvis Costello, one of only 2 top 10 hits he wrote, as although he had 3 top 10 hits himself, only one of those (Oliver's Army) was his own song. The other two were both cover versions.

I mentioned that I Don't Like Mondays is my top #1 of 1979. What about # 1s from 1973 year ? Only two songs still here and the one from them will come very soon.
After the finish of 70s I will rate all 80s # 1s from my least favourite to the best.

It appears your remaining #1s from 1973 are Peters And Lee and David Cassidy?

My least favourite #1s of the 1980s are:
1. No One Quite Like Grandma - St Winifred's School Choir 2. Let's Party - Jive Bunny & the Master Mixers 3. Shaddup You Face - Joe Dolce Music Theatre 4. A Groovy Kind Of Love - Phil Collins (dreadful cover version by an artist I usually admire) 5. I Should Be So Lucky - Kylie Minogue (S/A/W did worse songs but this is the worst one that got to #1).

It appears your remaining #1s from 1973 are Peters And Lee and David Cassidy? Yes, they are. Also I never understand all this hate for Joe Dolce song.

I think Joe Dolce is hated mostly for getting to #1 and keeping out Vienna. If it had peaked at say #9 then people may have considered it a poor song but there wouldn't be so much "hatred" for it as such.
If, say, "Kids In America" had been kept out of #1 by "Capstick Comes Home" there may have been similar "hatred" for the latter.
It isn't my worst anywway it's my 3rd worst.

So a main reason for hate is the same with my hate to one huge song, which blocked my favourite UK # 2 single from deserved # 1. Maybe one day I will complete and post here a countdown with all my favourite # 2 singles from UK chart.
Engelbert vs Beatles top 2 must be also mentioned here.

For that reason I hate:
"Back Home" by England World Cup Squad for keeping out "Question" by the Moody Blues
"I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor for keeping out "Oliver's Army" by Elvis Costello, which like "Vienna" also had a week at #2 behind the previous #1
"Unchained Melody" by Robson & Jerome for keeping out "Common People" by Pulp.
I don't hate Chesney Hawkes so much for keeping out "Sit Down" by James. "The One And Only" was clearly better than "The Stonk" that it replaced and at the time I was just pleased that James were able to get as high as #2.
