Whoa, hang on, do I need to step in in defence of the entire metal genre? Steady on!
Killing In The Name is quite simply brilliant, as is the entire album it came from. While I do confess I was a bit bemused by the whole Christmas number one campaign I certainly didn't see it as a bad thing, and it was certainly a million times better than the crap that the X Factor was pedalling.
Ace Of Spades is amazing too, a primal scream of a record, such a powerful blast of music. I don't suppose it will be number one next week, and if it is then as above it will be in somewhat questionable circumstances, but it will still head straight into the cannon of all time greatest chart toppers.
I will admit I always found Bring Your Daughter To The Slaughter a bit dull, but Iron Maiden also released some killer singles in their time.

Ace of Spades have a good chance to replace my current #1 in the worst list from all #1 songs in UK. Surely 'Bring your daughter to the slaughter' will be forever be the worst metal number one And also the best.

I don't mind any of them just thought that 'Ace Of Spades' couldn't possibly be called worse than BYDTHS

"Bring Your Daughter To The Slaughter" is nowhere near Iron Maiden's best song or their best known. It's ok though, better than the Cliff Richard song it replaced or the Vanilla Ice track that was #2 behind it on its first week.
I would say "Run To The Hills" is Iron Maiden's most "classic" song, along with "Can I Play With Madness" although in my chart their biggest hit was "No More Lies" in 2004, with "The Reincarnation OF Benjamin Breeg" also being a classic #1 in 2006.
