He is a national treasure but should of retired 20 year ago with a bit of dignity Agree mate. Love his early stuff but this new material is appaling. Completely disagree. Compared to the dreadful "Phil Collins years" where he released his artistic nadir Tonight & Never Let Me Down albums, and the appalling Dancing In The Street single this is great stuff. Personally, I think this is his best album since the Buddha of Suburbia OST. If you don't like adventurous music stick to Adele & Justin Bieber latest, or the necrophilic Elvis Presley Xmas cash in long players.

Yes that era was average which is more shocking why so many didnt get Tin Machine which was a step up, loved that record timefor a reappraisal Think if it came out 2 years later everyone would have loved it just that grunge sound hadnt gone mainstream yet.

Sorry but I'm not keen on the new stuff at all.
Is Tonight the song he did with Tina Turner? Because I absolutely love that if it is.

I think this one gets you in the end, it is poignant, moody and rather disturbing.

Some David Bowie music does sound better now than it felt at the time, e.g. Boys Keep Swinging and some of the lesser 80s hits: This Is Not America, Bluejean,
I was never that much into Diamond Dogs so it isn't just an era but the different styles of music he has done during his time of which some did not appeal to me because obviously he was still in the height of his career at Diamond Dogs.
I guess someone so versatile is bound to do something you don't like but you still admire him for daring to do it.

This song is so powerful it really feels like such a special track to have left in his legacy.

I found the Blackstar video a bit too creepy for my liking but do prefer the video and song for this. looks understandably in a lot of pain.
